Well I just fixed an embarrasing problem keeping my stream from broadcasting sound. And then I promptly crashed Zdoom by firing an RPG-7 into a group of 100+ zombiemen in one spot.

However, I was just reminded of a pattern which isn't very fortunate. As everyone probably knows, Doom's engine is open source (Doom 2 used the same engine). They've been working on FreeDoom, a free set of graphics, musics, maps etc for very long - and the project, by what I've seen, appears to have stalled almost completely. A shame, and hopefully Doom 3 kicks off better when it's released.

Well, there's been some freedoom activity lately as usual, but none since mid last month, so it hasn't stalled except very short term. No news posts or releases obviously if that's what you meant by stalled.

I used to use freedoom but doom 2 was dirt cheap so I picked it up a long time ago. Now I have the IWAD and use it regularly :P

Only problem with doing this in Doom 3 is once they release the source code, the resources are still their property if it's the same as D2 and Quake3. Considering this will be the first id tech 4 source code release, I'll imagine our hands will be tied to a bought version of Doom 3 long after the source code goes public because of how long I'm expecting it to take to have some free software recreation of all necessary resources.

And actually, we never really did get a "freequake3". The closest we got was openarena! (which everyone should play at least once)

Got a few boxes of really nice tea from work. The stuff smells great, and in fact makes a wonderful air freshener, in addition to its drinkable qualities.

Go to Google maps.  http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

Enter "China" as your starting point, "Taiwan" as your endpoint. Get directions.

"Step 48: Swim across the Pacific Ocean 165 km"

:P

This made me smile.

Also, eating a special kind of really sweet leaves tasting like a mix of sugar and sweetener is awesome. 100% most natural and healthy candy ftw.

Not that new, though. I've seen someone point out the 'Jetski across Pacific Ocean' line around that point going from China to Japan before.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Pnx

They used to do that for america to europe, but I suspect they stopped for legal reasons, good to know it's still done somewhere.

Got 99% on my German test, home from school, finished reading the Chronicles of Saint Augustine.

And best of all, my German teacher says we can make up as many vocabulary quizzes up as we can complete in 20 minutes, next Tuesday.

I am the fastest quiz taker in the class, by minutes.  I also have the greatest history of absenteeism.  This is going to be very, very good for my grade.
