Yeah that's definitely some hardcore endurance.  What is that, 7 minutes per mile for 11 miles straight?  Daaaaaaaaamn.
About that, if you account for stopping for traffic on the way in and out of town. This week is all about becoming invincible so that I can run 5:30 pace for three miles without keeling over.

Oh it was the same for us because most of us had no clue what we were doing.  I myself had only seen up to the gunship battle prior.  So there was a whole lot fucking up going on.

But fortunately due to the aforementioned +5 levels and gear, it pretty much just ended up along the lines of "Lol yer supposed to get behind the ice blocks when she does that" *healed back to full health from supposed to mean the death of everyone in the group mistake in 2 seconds with the healers not even using their cooldowns*

I was (and still am... kinda) a healer during the ICC content. It was a giant fistpump moment when we finally downed the Lich King after months of being behind the curve. Mostly because I was a Disc Priest for the majority of it, and while vital to my raid's strategy, it was fucking stressful.

Then I switched over to Resto Shaman, and we never beat the Lich King again. But raiding became much more fun.

I actually stopped playing WoW once Cataclysm came out, I got tired of the grinding really fast and realized I wasn't in the mood to grind five long level's, while fucking underwater. Ironically, im fucking terrified of being stranded deep underwater but for some reason I decided to go there anyway's.

I had the same problem. I literally could not spend more than five minutes on WoW at any one time in that area, because of my fear of drowning. And that was what just broke off my WoW playing.

Got to drive through the pounding rain on the highway for the first time. For some reason, I thought the constant stream of "oh my god I can't see anything I'm going to die" running through my head was absolutely hilarious at the time.

Oh, and ice cream with those little red-hot candies in it. Yum.

Finally beat Ice Crown Citadel.  I'm happy.  Strangely beating an arbitrary final boss of an old World of Warcraft expansion was on my list of things I would be really happy to do.

I kinda wish I had seen/killed an end-boss in a legit fashion. Practically nobody saw Kel'thuzad so I didn't lose sleep over that, was pretty happy with my guild's progress in classic. TBC was the closest I ever got, we were working on M'uru before we gave up when WotLK was coming. And my guild sadly died during Ulduar, so we never got further than that. Shame too, we were the best guild on the server up until then.

Pretty much killed any interest I had in WoW after that. Came back for a few months in Cataclysm but lost interest after hitting 85. When a group of people you've more or less spent years with splits apart, it kinda kills the mood. Though some of them got back together in a casual guild... ought to rejoin them someday...

I feel you pain. My guild was a small casual guild, but after the leader leaving for a long time during the summer and no one really stepping up we didn't do much. We tried to recruit more people, but we didn't exactely get the most responsible members causing a long time member of the guild to ragequit and never be heard from again. Everyone ended up leaving, which sucks.

But this is the happy thread! More happy damnit!

Man, you guys are afraid of digital drowning as well? Man, the one thing about Sonic the Hedgehog games that freaked me the hell out was the drowning in some levels. Super Mario 64 had some of this too, I couldn't even progress through some areas because it required being underwater for uncomfortable stretches of time.

And Tomb Raider.

And Terraria and Minecraft.

And Eco the Dolphin. Man there wasn't even a fear of drowning, the atmosphere was just really alien at times.

And certain fishing areas in Super Black Bass. I'm not even underwater! I'm just getting a zoom in on my lure! Why's this freaking me out so much?

You rang?

Oddly, I'm more afraid of heights in games than drowning.

Not an awful night of work and after tonight I don't go back for two weeks.

I don't usually mind drowning but that music...

I'm begining a search for Rap that I'll like. Why does this make me happy? More music to listen to always does.

I was basically very bad at game time limits as a kid - something about them just put me off. Drowning was ok, as long as it was easy to avoid somehow and it didn't feature OMG YOU'RE GOING TO DIE A HORRIBLE DROWNING DEATH IN THESE HOLLOW DEPTHS WHERE NO ONE WILL FIND YOUR BODY music like Sonic.

I got over that at some point during my youth. I still like careful planning but time limits are no longer such a problem for me. EXCEPT when they occur in games that are supposed to be about careful planning, like Commandos or something.
