I am currently writing a snarky essay about a city named Cloudcuckooland (Wolkenkuckucksheim) whose primary economy is based on hedgehogs.

What is wrong with me.

Clearly, all the best things to be wrong. Now, excuse me whilst I work out the logistics of a mammal-based economy. Clearly, there's a strong incentive to save your money, since it grows exponentially. Banks would attempt to design the most efficient breeding programs instead of investing in loans and suchlike...

Oddly enough, this would probably greatly improve the the lives of alot of animals, since no one would want to accept a malnourished or abused animal as payment for a debt.

Oh yes someone finally made this.

Sounds like music you'd hear in a sci-fi RTS game or something. Sounds more fitting of a game like AI:War, Achron, or something. Heck, the song title even sounds appropriate for such a game.

I am continuing to follow our Debt Ceiling thread and finding it to be comedy gold. Its like listening to Glenn Beck's evil Communist twin ranting against fascism autotuned to Wacky Sax.

Working at the Federal Reserve, keeping inflation in line, would be the most depressing job in the world.
How do you fight inflation? With a hunting rifle.

On the other hand, sayings such as "Money doesn't grow on trees" would fare poorly. Especially if we're talking squirrels or lemurs.

If the exchange market worked based on equivalency of mass, and countries adopted some native animal as "their" currency, exchange rates would be awesome. Like, the Keynan Lion (KYL) would be worth 4 Australian Kangaroos (AUK), but only 1/13th of an Indian Elephant (INE).

Corollary to that: Making change would be messy. Either literally (who wants to tote half a cat around?) or figuratively (some kind of old English system where a plethora of mice and other small animals would serve as 'loose change')

Why am I not surprised you're enjoying all this?  ::)

My urge to write something for Baritone Horn rose up yesterday, and coupled with a lack of tiredness last night... well, I'm Still Alive. My recording software clipped the louder parts a little, but there is the first trio I have ever written.

Glad you enjoy it. :) I do kinda wish some real commies would show up and give me something new to fight against.

Vague sniping in a different thread is the best way to argue.

Working at the Federal Reserve, keeping inflation in line, would be the most depressing job in the world.
It would be made more practical if said animal was the only food available.

On a related note I just saw some newborn hedgehogs on TV being fed. Once when I was looking out of my Dad's front room windows I noticed a nose sticking out of the bushes. We were worried we might have rats but after a couple of days keeping an eye out for them realised it was a hedgehog nest with young. Both these things made me happy.

Finally got past 10m (11.6m) in QWOP. Then again, to work with my timing and coordination, I used xPadder to assign QWOP to the gamepad buttons.

Almost got a good reliable rate going.
