Fanfic overload. I've just read some million or so words about all my favorite ships and have that naughty/giddy I'm-going-to-stay-awake-and-see-Santa sort of feeling.

I r in ur forest, pretending to be ebil. Rawr.
That made my morning. Reminds me of another site I saw once that rated the "top 10 black metal bands trying too hard". I believe Immortal was prominent there as well. I think it's that they have a slightly out-of-era look to them. They look more like they'd be at home in the 1970's.

I heard they still use black metal makeup and clothes, because they secretly find it funny.

I'm not sure whether to put this in the happy or sad thread.

For those of you who aren't aware, Australia is currently in a minority government, with the Independents basically controlling the House of Representatives, which means they choose which party stays in power.

Other two major parties are Liberals and Labour. Republicans and Democrats respectively.

Now what happened to cause a minority government was our Barack Obama, the first smart person in government, got deposed about nine months or so before last election, lasting less than a single term. People didn't like it.

Anyway, what's happening now is that we've got a Prime Minister who has pretty low approval ratings. People don't like her. Unfortunately, the only substitute is the other party. While they have a reasonably good chance, with a change of leader, their current leader is not popular enough either.

So that's the situation.

What's got me bugged is that there is a group that's loosely supported by the government, whose basic idea is to get hate of the opposition going. Among the 'reasons' for the hate is that he's a right wing, which is fair enough. Obviously it's something the people don't want. But the main reason for the hate is divided. Either he raises too much opposition to the government, he changes his mind when the situation changes... I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

All I have ever heard Tony Abbot do is complain. I wouldn't mind him taking over from Gillard, because I really don't like her, but I haven't heard anything from him but "We wouldn't do that if we were in power, it's stupid". That seems to be all he's capable of doing.
