By Thor's hammer!
Glad to hear you pulled through! Also, somehow every time I have ever seen your avatar in the past, it was a bright orange flower, but for the first time ever I saw a skeleton in fire...

It's a flaming skeleton? I always thought it was a zoomed in picture of Africa from space.

I live!

2 days ago I was in a restless near-coma, thanks to a simultaneous ear infection, sinus infection and gastric infection. Spent all night Wednesday and all day and night Thursday in bed, popping codeine like Chiclets and sipping Gatorade when I was lucid enough to do so. The combined infections had given me the kind of headache that is usually followed by an alien parasite exploding out of the forehead. And a fever high enough that, combined with the heavy dosage of codeine and the general lack of sleep, had me tripping balls.

Glad you're alright :)

So my mother admitted to my father that the reason she didn't use her iPod was because she had trouble using it. So my father showed her how to use it (again), and now she's listening to music in the other room and singing along off-key I guess it's annoying but it's also sort of funny, and... a positive vibes thing? I imagine I'll get annoyed with it later, but right now it's a happy thingtm.

Trying to make an antimatter reactor in Powder Toy, by mixing constant amounts of deuterium and antimatter encased in diamond(which transfers heat, but noting else). It's sort of working. I'm getting more heat from the deuterium going nuclear(by throwing a few neutrons in there to start the party) than from the deuterium/neutrons colloding with the antimatter, though. I'm also seeing antimatter gas leaking through the diamond shell(which is at least 3 pixels thick), which, if this were a real reactor, would be one serious problem.

Pointless, inaccurate science is fun.

I just finished playing through Station37. It's an indie game that makes me think of Sega Megadrive games but more specifically one of the Ghost Busters games. The whole thing put a smile on my face but most of all the second half.

Well, I didn't expect that twist so early in the game. It really does fit the old Genesis/Megadrive style of gameplay well. Even the color schemes and themes.

I didn't expect it so soon either. I'm almost disappointed but not greatly.

I am very happy about many things, both significant and petty, but extremely poor air quality in my home is causing headaches, constant sneezing, and slurred trains of thought, so please excuse anything I say that is odd, poorly thought out, or deleterious in design.

I am very happy that I got something resembling a full time job. For 10 weeks starting on September 12th, I'll be working as a receptionist and having a really cheap place to live. The job is at the Health Services desk at MCTI, the very school I went to to acquire the Customer Service skills in the first place. All the while I'm encouraged look for employment elsewhere in the meanwhile.

About that, the really cheap place to live is part of some apartment building funded by government money, and so I'm getting a great deal. By great deal, I mean the rent is 310 dollars/month, and this includes all utilities included, including phone and cable internet, and the use of an air conditioner, and the apartment includes a side-by-side fridge, a microwave, an electric stove-oven. It has two bedrooms w/ beds, and dressers.

And plus, the greatest thing about having my own place: I finally get privacy. I've always had to share my living space with someone else, my entire life. That pissed me off to no end, but now that's over, even if only for a little while. I don't have to share my space or time with anyone, that's the best thing.

Plus, living in the area enables me to pay for the weekly free food drop. $1 a week, and a local charity organization offers some food to the locals for free. Just whatever they happen to have, and you can grab as much as you'd like, sans cost besides the initial $1 investment. No guarantees on the variety, so it can be anything from cakes and other nice things one week, and nothing but heads of lettuce the next.

I finished my camp mentoring, and got quite a lot of money in the process, I just need to wait for the checks to roll in and I'm set for a little while. I'm also glad that I'd made such good impressions with all my coworkers and superiors.

What do I intend on using that money for? Buying my very first laptop, all for me.

I'm sad that I won't be seeing alot of my graduating MCTI friends anymore, but I'm glad to continue my time with those ones that are staying as well.

I'm glad that I've discovered the incredible wit, humor, and charm of James Thurber. I haven't laughed this sincerely, and this hard at a book in such a long time.

I'm glad that I throw a few dollars at buying two 15 card booster packs for the latest MtG set, M12. Out of the very first pack I open, I get a Chandra, the Firebrand. That is outstandingly lucky, and I got to use it against my Magic playing friends later that day. It was awesome.

So yeah, I've had quite a few nice weeks, I'm happy to tell you all.

I never really got a chance to catch Day9 casting or commentating events. Good to get to this in real time.

Edit: And caught Archon Zealot fucking up some Stalkers. Wonderful.

Editedit; Tylor knows how to slap some bastards down, five Archons and a horde of Zealots just humiliating a deathball that was about to form.

Man I want what Josh has.  Having my own apartment and job would be awesome.  I'm going to have to work part-time while being a full-time college student though.

EDIT:
Oh, and I'm back from Maine at my Dad's parents house.  Tired as hell, have to go to my cousin's 18th birthday party when my parents pick me up, eeerrgh.

After having been on vacation away from home for over a week, I'm back and I've just finished baking my first rye bread since I've come home. I was so hungry, and the bread looked so good. Now it's done and I'm eating it.

It-is-SO-good.
