Vector, your avatar is a normal egg.

Have you not tried geese eggs?

Nope, never.  Avatar goes with the signature, I guess =)

Hm..

Its true, coming out of something or having a changing event can change the whole world around you.

Take for instance me coming out. I acted differently, people were different, my thinking is different.
Its a very true statement.

Indeed, right? Best film in the "horror" (super-)genre of the whole 00's, definitely. A lot because of the soundtrack.

It's one of those movies I really wish I could go back and watch for the first time again.

See, most of the fear involved for me was from what I thought I knew about horror movies--or rather, I expected everything to go from bad, to worse, to terrible, to awful, and so on.  I didn't find it all that scary in and of itself.  By the end, I even stopped jumping, haha.  Twas a really, really good movie, though.

I guess the high point would be me and my roommate discussing how hot Naomie Harris is >_>  She should be in more movies.
Hence the quotations and the super ;)
Zombie films isn't supposed to scare the same way other horror is, I suppose. After all, it's the uninfected who's the scariest, and then it's still very suspenseful rather than terrifying. And much of that suspense is because of that masterwork song.

...why can't I stop talking about that soundtrack? ;D

A good quote for those coming out of their shell.

Hehe, thank you.  I'm trying.

Actually, I'm writing an email to my ex-boyfriend today.  Haven't contacted him in half a year or so, but ...

What I want to know is that he's a different person, and when I know that it can be over.  I can feel that it's starting to be time.

EDIT: Context is that he's been emailing me just about every month or so, I've been ignoring him, yadda yadda.  Decided to write back.

Finished the email and I don't feel bad or nervous about writing him for pretty much the first time ever.  Think this may have been the first time for a long time that I've been this honest in my dealings with this dude, rather than trying to cover up various personality traits or whatever.

Huh.  Good feeling.

Now time for German... after breakfast and washing up.

Apparently, 44 of 50 American states no longer including Cursive handwriting in their public school required curriculums.  While the loss of any classical knowledge from what kids have to learn is usually a sign of the impending demise of the American mindscape, fuck Cursive.  I never knew why it existed in the first place, why anyone should be required to learn it or write with it, and not only never used it again after the 6th grade but was specifically encouraged not to.

Huh? I, and everybody I know, use cursive all the time. The transition from letter to letter is just so much smoother.

On the other hand, my handwriting is kinda crap so...

It's not the loss of classical knowledge as much as it being replaced. There's only so much old stuff that we can keep doing without much yield until people notice it's obsolete to have to devote so much to it.
But yeah, fuck cursive.

YYYYEEESSSS. I got a volunteer job with the my (enormous) local public library. It's actually a pretty tough thing to do or so I've heard, but I aced both the tests and all my information checked out and was acceptable, and my interview went well. I start on wednesday! oh boy something to do with my summer other than waste time

I also followed up in person to an online application at the hardware store (I am getting very good at this: be confident, you don't need them they need YOU, this is why you're an asset to their company, "well let me just ask you few quesitons anyway", show them you want to work there, don't be pushed away) but found out I had to be eighteen. NOWHERE on the site or application did it specify a required or even recommended age, and I did a lot of research on this job. Maybe I just missed it though.

I agree with this. I learned cursive to the best of my abilities when I was younger but to this day when some old person writes something incomprehensible and pass it off as "formal" because it's "cursive" and I can't read it, it makes me rage. However, this is certainly happy thread material as I'm glad it's nearly gone.

Hey, I write in cursive so much that not writing in cursive feels unnatural. Writing in cursive is much faster due to the smooth transitions from letter to letter.
Honestly I have no idea why everyone hates it so much.

It's learning it that's hated so much, not so much cursive being used unless it's used badly. If you can write well in cursive for the teaching you got, okay, nice.

I can't do cursive, I can barely write, but I can type. I have a problem where words sometimes come out wrong, putting the letters down out of order. While writing normally I leave a space for the letters I need to go back and insert to finish a word, cant do that with cursive. And if I accidentally write upside down? its just squiggles in cursive, but people can figure out what the letters are supposed to be with script.
