Bbirthday presents: A Dance with Dragons ( I kept calling it Dances with Dragons. Hmm... SoFaI/Dances with Wolves crossover, anyone?). Also, a new tennis racquet, and one year left of being a minor.

...I am also turning 17 today, and I also received Dance with Dragons. Admittedly it was a preorder that I paid for (family money is tight), but IT'S ON MY TABLE AFTER A FOUR-YEAR WAIT.

Birthday high fives!

Some games still work, even though not the ones I'm interested in.
Well looks like I'll get to play GTA IV after all...

I'm at the radio station where my dad works.
Currently in the audio library, looking for things to rip.
Good gods, information overload. D:
But I did find an Audioslave disc, so...

Cooked myself a HUGE wok of stirfried rice, with cabbage, peas, onions, raisins, and carrots.

Tomorrow: eggplant curry!

And after that: Borsch!

And then, I need to learn to cook some new stuff; around then it'll probably be time to buy some more vegetables at the store, anyway.  I didn't expect to eat an entire cucumber in one day.

Kind of random, but could I ask what radio station that is?

Oh, drat!  I forgot to thank everyone for all of the vampire recommendations!

Thank you so much, guys.  I really appreciate them.

Hmm... I kind of want to make an "old-school horror" thread, for Stoker, Shelley, Shakespeare, Hugo, Leroux, Lovecraft, and so on--and modern works in that style.  Of course, stuff outside of France and England would be more than welcome =)  Maybe I'll do that in a while.

Read a job posting on Bioware's site for a Game Story Writer.  And you know what?  I swear I could actually do that job if I had the years of experience they require.  This is a good thing and it makes me happy.

Metro 2033 is really awesome. .3

It's fairly straightforward, and it doesn't have as much exploration as the games it's often compared to. But standing on it's own it's a great game so far. At that there's a load of things in game just to enhance immersion, which I really like.

I was finally able to leave work in time to go to Aikido again. If feels good to be able to do the rolls and movements again.

Also, I got to write a trie (that automatically collapses itself to a DAG) today, which was fun in a very nerdy sort of way.

Through much determination, and one hell of a cramp in my wrist and fingers, and maybe a spacebar and shift key on the verge of breaking, I finally done it. I unlocked the Kid from IWTBTG in Super Meat Boy. Holy hell, that was f***ing difficult. Took me a full 2 hours to beat those 3 levels; but I finally did it anyhow.

\m/ (^_^) \m/

Now to get those last 2 bandages and any levels I haven't beaten yet, along with beating the dark ending.
