War sweeps the world, but luckily, those of us in America are left out of it.
Some few decades ago the Chinese lost their final city to the English, leaving the Romans unhappy about their share of... Everything else.
These tensions exploded in 1390, leading to a drawn out war between the two massive nations. Now, it looks as though the Romans will emerge victorious, with the English pushed back to those three cities that are naturally theirs. Shanghai fell, as did the City of Gifts, our American gift to England as a sign of friendship.
Japan is technically involved in the war against the English but thus far they appear to have sent over one (Read: ONE) samurai to support their Roman "Comrades" in their crusade. The Romans, showing usual Roman psychology, have decided to try and guilt the Japanese into more help by lavishing gifts upon them. Thus far this tactic has been failing miserably.
In the new world, cities have begun to spread exponentially, with new hubs of commerce and trade appearing on the coast, straddling that new desert that so resembles the Sahara of the American heartland. The Natives (commonly called the Red Siamese) are being slaughtered by the hundreds, but have yet to feel any of it. They still appear in hordes of up to
fourteen platoons. EACH. Luckily their policy of using spears and shortswords against rifles and muskets has turned each battle into a victory, but our military is still sustaining appaling casualties.
As a result, President Washigton (AKA: Karne) has spent nigh the entire treasury of 3000 gold producing new, advanced units to take the fight to the barbarians. With squads and platoons of riflemen and cavalry marching day and night from San Francisco and Portland America trudges on, bringing Civilization and liberty to the barbaric Red Siamese.
In other news, President Karne has announced that in spite of the War in the New World, the treasury grows by 300 gold per day! We also have constructed the Louvere, leading to a outpouring of great artists. A landmark to represent this great event has been constructed on the outskirts of New York, as well as several others in many spots across the nation!
A woman near Boston has given birth to what people are calling a "Swamp Monster". How this is to effect the nation is as of yet, unknown.
In other strange news, scouts in South Asia have reported a startling discovery: Ruins from a lost civilization! Inside these ruins are great cultural artifacts, mounds of gold, and lost technologies of a sort never seen before! Historians have brought up the Ruins of Austrailia from the Ancient Era, and drawn parrallells, but whereas the Ruins of Austrailia gave ancient America the secret of pottery, these ruins seem far more advanced. Researchers are looking into old Austrailian artifacts in hopes of grand discoveries, or at least ties to what people have bugun to call the New Austrailian age!
