Cast Vortex on Jormungandir's head just as he came up, 1shot insta-kill. What's more, I seem to have killed him so hard he is stuck in his rotation for retreating back underground; he jumps up to the left of me in that picture tail first, before going down in shown vortex covered hole, again, tail first. Stuck like that in a loop.

Each time he goes through the vortex, it shows him getting nearly a billion damage over and over.

I don't know. The only thing I had on hand for heat was the engine block/radiator of a 1990 Bronco II.

I just realized there are no strong, moral female characters in the campaign I'm preparing. Well, that's not exactly true, but the only one who exists so far I realized was going to fall into the trap of seeming like being a nod to equality but really ending up relying utterly on the PCs and being defined significantly by her role as a mother. I can't afford to write her out of the plot, but I can tweak her responses to events slightly to make her a better character, and this does give me an excuse to write more NPCs and ensure that the player characters aren't the only real heroes in the world, which is why it's in this thread. And also because I caught myself before it was too late to resolve without an asspull.

EDIT: So now I'm writing up a competent warrior and leader sort of exiled princess who's leading a sort of resistance type thing against her now-mind-controlled family, and who isn't going to angst about it because I have to subvert the trope somewhere and Zeus knows I am not doing it anywhere else. And for that matter, yes, she will be wearing appropriate armor for battlefield conditions. Breastplates with cups died out right around the time people figured out they pretty much guide the stabby ends of things directly into that heart thing most non-liches need in order to not die.

Further Edit: And if any of my players are reading this, what the hell are you doing on this forum.

Probably Final Edit: I probably wouldn't consider it a problem I explicitly need to fix, were it not for the fact that I have strong, blatantly evil women and weak women who balance out to morally good and aren't significant beyond a bit part. "A woman who is trying to be important must be evil" is not a message I want implicit in the setting here, I think.

Oddly I was just going to post that I just finished up my character for a game Ill be playing that Ill think Ill seriously enjoy playing with... Is this Pen and paper character making day? Anyway in her case she's a semi-undead med student. Blame me reading too much Franken Fran. Heh.

Having just about completed "False Gods" I was looking for the next book, when out of curiosity I looked up Black Library publishing, and saw the list of their published 40k novels...

Holyyyy shhhit...
... I... I don't think I'm going to be able to read all of that... that might just be more novels than I've read in my entire life... and if you've seen my book collection you'd find that hard to believe... I intend to try though... Painful as that might turn out to be.

It depends.. I could possibly get though them all.

There's over a hundred, and assuming it takes at least a day to read through each one, and assuming I don't spend all my time relentlessly reading myself into a coma, I'm guessing it would take at least a year... I'll probably start on Gaunt's Ghosts after reading through the Horus Heresy series.

I've also been trying to count how many novels I've read.

There's at least half a dozen short story books, if you count those as novels themselves...
Then I've read pretty much everything Terry Pratchett has ever published. The straight Discworld books amount to 38 books, plus carpet people, the johnny series (3 books), Strata I read, although Dark Side of the Sun I haven't (I seem to recall buying it but then accidentally leaving it in a hotel room). Truckers, Diggers, and Wings I read. There's The Science of Discworld series (3 books)... I suppose The Art of Discworld doesn't really count...

Then I guess we should count good omens next. I read far too many of R.A. Salvator's books, I seem to recall reading 4 of the drizzt series as well as the cleric quintette, along with a single novel out of another series before deciding I was thoroughly tired of him...

Then there was Dragon Champion which I fondly remember reading before the other books came out (I've yet to read those)... That led onto me reading two out of three horrible books in my newfound lust for fantasy dragons the last of that trilogy still sits unread, I refuse to count or name these books...
Anyway, that lead onto me reading the Dragonlance chronicles... with notations (a few of which stand out in my head, in particular one which mentions a little song that goes "Dragonlance, dragonlance. I see Tika's underpants!)

... Then there's a book I don't remember the name of, which was horribly corny and about a group of mystical "warriors" who fight with magic powers of peace and tranquility in a grimdark world, which was actually quite a good book despite the setting (and left me with the awesome catch phrase of "Do you love me? Do you luuuuvvv me?")

Let's see now... There's the Name of the Wind, and The Wise Man's Fear which I heartily recommend.

I've read 6 of the ciaphus cain books, since I suppose we should include those here... Then there's Horus Rising, and I've nearly finished False gods, so let's include that...


Which puts us at about 80 books... plus a few I've doubtless forgotten. So yes, that is more fantasy/scifi than I've ever read.
I should also like to put in a mention that I'm also reading Notre Dame de Paris, which I got two chapters into, it is very heavy reading, although it is interesting. I've got to get back into that one...
It's not really fantasy/scifi, but I think it deserves an honorable mention all the same.

EDIT: Aww shiznu, I forgot about "The Anansi Boys", "American Gods", and "Neverwhere". Can't believe I forgot about Neil Gaiman's stuff... I know there's probably other books too but still...

Happy B-Day dragnar!

I had a fantastic day/afternoon/evening. A bunch of my friends who've never met came over all on the same night to watch Arnold movies, like "Commando". Then 2 friends collaborated with me in the kitchen and we made a fantastic tomato cream soup with sourdough bread, and stuffed mushroom caps, and it was super-fun! We hung out, chatted, discussed our respective nerdery (including sharing MSPA with some folks!), and my friends all got along with one another, which was really good to see. Then I got invited to go swimming at a water park on Memorial Day, (which will be wonderful since it's been so long since I've swam, and I've been wanting to for weeks). Also also, I think a most intriguing ladyfriend of mine might be interested in me too, which is x A Lot.

About to head to bed at last, but not before rereading the Octopus Pie "Renaissance Fair" arc. I do love that webcomic.

Ah... today has been a very good day. :3
