 It's really not something to go too deeply into as they go about as well as religious discussions.

 Although there are different degrees of transhumanism, so any general sweeping statement about it can't really hold water.

 The transhumanism movement is an attempt to recognize that society, the world and even the individual, are in for some really big changes due to the advancement of technology, and ideally aims to move it in a more favorable direction for us, rather than a dystopian or cataclysmic one. In essence, it's the belief that we know better than nature. Which is valid, as evolutionary changes are very slow and retroactive, as opposed to technological change which is very rapid and proactive.

The 'Ghost in the Shell' series does a pretty good job portraying a transhumanist vision of the future.

I think a big part of it is how philosophy involves a lot of hard thinking to come up with your "answers", and when people work so hard for their "answers" they tend to be very defensive about them. Which leads to issues when two people have come up with different "answers" which they worked hard to get at, and probably put themselves through a fair amount of emotional stress because of them.
Also it's because people have trouble seeing how awesome I am... They just let their egos get in the way of seeing the truth of things.
But let's drop that subject before I start about it.

So the thing I came here for then, was that playing around in Space Empires V I was poking around trying to figure out how to scrap facilities in order to get some organics to hold me over for a while. I found out you have scrap cargo where the facilities will be listed as one of the items in a colonies' cargo hold... along side it's population, which can be scrapped for organics... Who's up for some natural food supplements?
