I'm not really sure where to put this, since Life Advice seems to be mostly for more serious things (which garner the most attention too) and I didn't feel that this needed a separate topic in GD.

Anyways, I need a prompt for an argumentative essay in English - preferably a position with some backing. Any ideas?
Well, running with the current theme, I suppose you could argue that almost all works contain side characters more interesting or favorable to some audience members than the main one(s).

And I suppose as long as the prospect of writing the essay makes you happy it fits here.

Trackmania United Forever Star Edition

It's on sale on Steam right now. Freaking Stunts nostalgia'd watching that, and reading up on it. So worth the 10 bucks, and it's online too. We gotta race (on each other's tracks) some time.

Hell, this can be future LP material. Just submit me your tracks, and we'll see how much I suck rock at them.

EDIT:
More gameplay footage I found. I don't know if I want to scream "WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" or "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!" ;D

Also, the game is as easy or as hard as you want to MAKE it. You can always make the tracks (and apparently import cars into the game as well. Sounded like it had a decent modding community.) harder or ball bustingly difficult, or even lay a cheap trick here and there (high speed fork in the road into a snowy track).

I'm a little late to the -core party, but the only core I like is horrorcore rap, and even then only ironically.

Also fuck yeah Mike Sells.  Peanut Oil is the best thing to come near a potato since...

Eh...  It fizzled out.  I couldn't think of a clever joke.

I can assure you, it's that the guy is too good.  I haven't played United, but if it handles anything like Nations, those wall-ollies and loops and shit will ruin you every time.  The crashes are disappointing though, the cars are made of solid tungsten and can hit a wall at the speed of sound without bouncing, much less deforming.

I'm about to journey to a better place, a better time.  A world where computers were bulbous and colorful.  A world where we would all rush through the designated Library period, grabbing a book at random, so we could get to spend the rest of the period in computer lab.

I'm journeying to the world of 90s Macintosh Educational Computer Games.

Made some money, contributed to some home improvement projects I usually complain bitterly about (but this time I got to destroy a deck), and am now reading Bay12 while it rains outside, with a cat who just fell asleep in my lap. Contentment, however fleeting!

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

More in the Treasure Mathstorm and Number Munchers realm.

I'm trying to find the math racing game where you'd have to race the guy in the black dragster and everybody would go "Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no!"

Using knowledge from Minecraft, Caves of Qud, and possibly Fallout, I stuck pretty much everything I needed in the basement for a tornado that never came.
'Tree, blocks of dirt, stones, seeds, netherrack... purified water, antidotes.. 50 Drams fresh water... Yep. All here.'
I forgot to mention the baby deer, the pair of flashlights, about 15 batteries Fresh Chem cells, and candles]/s] torches, cigarette lighter flint and steel.

Nice.  I fondly remember Number Munchers and even the drag racing game (where you had to answer simple math questions as fast as you could, right?).

I was just given a list of writing prompts, one of which is about identifying with non-hero figures in a given story more than the designated heroes themselves.

Wow with a writing prompt like that, I wonder if they already had Avatar in mind.
Yeah, that's almost not-trying level, I'd say. Then again, I suppose it's not really difficult to find examples elsewhere.
Oh Frollo, if only you weren't so old and weak you could have offed that hunchback.

My older sister came back from Vegas.

Our ministers husband took her out with a group of friends to a casino and she won $300 at blackjack.

Normally I'm annoyed when some rapper superimposes his lyrics over a song someone else already made, but this is glorious.
