 All finals done, summer is officially here. My sister also bought the plane tickets for our trip, so I'll be leaving you guys on the 12th of July. Two days before my birthday.

 It always seems like cool things happen on my birthday. Twice we took a walk that day and we got caught in amazing rainstorms, once I was at summer camp and a bunch of my buddies decided to make it awesome, once it sort of came up a few minutes before midnight when shooting a friends movie in the middle of nowhere and they had a celebration planned in the middle of nowhere, and now I'll be in Switzerland, the first time I have been out of the country in my life. Hell, off the east coast even.

I am happy today because Metal Gear Solid.  Seriously, yo.  Also the music from that series, which I am beginning to fall for rather hard.

Slightly unhappy because my taste in video games and narratives is shifting so hard, but I guess that's okay.  I'm just a bit sad and surprised that my taste for Hetalia bloomed and faded so quickly.  It had a lot of unexplored stuff that could have been exploited, but the fandom is terrible and rabid, and the characterizations problematic (and shallow, and boring now that I've educated myself a little bit more).

Of course, I'm not even wading past my ankles into the MGS fanvoid, because I suspect it'd just be too vomit-inducing.  At least I understand that much now :D

So hopefully I'll be able to finish the first game today, and then I'll go read one of my many lovely books :3
