That book bit I posted earlier today? Well I had also walked down the block to another yard sale and picked up Myst IV: Revelation for a buck. Decided to give it a whirl and its pretty interesting so far.

Well, all the same, it's really quite fun and making me wish I had a PS3, or access to one, or something... *sigh*

It really is a good game, though it's getting quite a bit easier for me now.  Normal mode >:I  Easy is for children, right?

Can't swap out due to being mid-game (I'm halfway through or so, I think), and purportedly that'd just turn the radar off... which makes the game very, very hard indeed >_>

I... I'm already considering allowing myself to get Bad End, though maybe I'll just watch it on youtube.

Metal Gear Solid games do not mess around with difficulty settings. Every one is a fairly large jump up from the previous one. I remember when I decided it was time to play MGS3 on Extreme. I'm still not sure if some of the things I said during boss fights were actual words at any point in my thought process.

Bad end on MGS1 is an interesting thing, and has an odd effect on the canon of the next few games, particularly 4. I never knew it existed until Chip and Ironicus did an LP on it.

Yeah, I'm wondering how deep the divergence point is... if it's not too deep, I'll just play through both ways (possibly tonight, time permitting >_>).  Otherwise, I'll have to think about it.

By the way, I made a Metal Gear thread, so we can talk about the entire series to our hearts' content.  Because there's loads to talk about.  And yeah, the endings.  It's not that weird to me, since the only thing that necessarily reconciles is when Campbell decided to reveal his big secret, since he didn't have to do it on Meryl's death.  You wouldn't even notice if you only saw the Good ending... but Meryl would be a zombie (of illegitimate parentage) to anyone who only saw the bad...

Well i'm finally awake, but boy what a night was it, first we went and drank beer, lots of it, then we jumped around like fools and moshed our hearts out, then we played the drinking game with one of the bands, then we moshed some more, and after all of it was over the band had more alcohol so we went drinking with the band, really cool guys.
