 There's this really tiny stray cat that has taken a liking to our yard and the herb thicket, chewing on some specific plants in there. It'll greet me whenever I approach, but gets annoyed if you try to pet it and will chomp at you to get the point across. Dunno what I should do about the situation, as there are a lot of outdoors cats in the area and there is no call to adopt/ask around about it.

 I guess I'm just happy that there is a semi-loyal pet around again.

We have one such around here as well, it's the friendliest cat I've ever seen (almost aggressively intense in it's "affection" showing if you give it any attention at all) and it has a strange, very funny (in a cute way) face. It's one of the few cats my kitten get along with, so every other day I see them playing together.
