This was more or less explicitly how I was told to write exams when I TA'd for International Security Policy, but for some reason my "obviously wrong" answers were always changed on the actual exam. Apparently "The Moon" is a little too obviously wrong an answer for "Where did Marx expect the first Communist revolution to occur?" (There's a lot of history in the course, if you're wondering what that question was doing there). We did try to vary which option in the list was actually correct, though.

A lot of my inside information came from an economics professor who hated everything about schooling.  His multiple choice tests were specifically designed to be abysmally easy for anyone who actually read the textbook or wrote down his lectures (that's me), so no one could complain when they bombed anyway.  His "obviously wrong" answers would be things like "(D) I didn't study".  He always enjoyed when people picked that, he appreciated the honest courage, and would sometimes even give back a few free points.  Never enough to matter of course.

"Where did Marx expect the first Communist revolution to occur?"
You have triggered my insatiable need to answer questions.

I'd have to guess either Prussia or France on that one. Having never studied Marx at all, I don't hold high hopes for that being a succesful guess.

It was totally Prussia. Good guess. Might've been Germany; I'm not 100% sure on when the Wars of Unification happened relative to his predictions about that. Basically massive, rapid industrialization was his reasoning (working class gets extremely oppressed very fast), IIRC.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

He was from Prussia... of course he thought it'd happen there =/

"Where did Marx expect the first Communist revolution to occur?"

(D) Antarctica.

Nobody lives there and there isn't a government, so it would be an easy revolution right? Makes sense.

I've always thought it would be really cool if some scientist got a wild hair up his ass, and declared the Polar Research Station an autonomous entity.  Technically, the land isn't actually a sovereign country.  Yet.

Speaking of vaguely communist revolutions, Red Faction: Guerrilla is pissing me off just as much as I'm enjoying it.  After ever so slightly bemoaning how little challenge there is in Just Cause 2, where you can basically fly on command and death is meaningless, it's unsettling to come into a game where bullets actually hurt you and you can't just leap over tall buildings in a single cable-pull to escape trouble.

Well, if Communism is equal wealth distribution, and there's nobody there...

Took a 5 mile walk today. On the way around, the daughter and I hit 2 playgrounds. We were outside for a total of 5 1/2 hours, and to her, it was glorious.

Penivag is a tricky one.

Janet, what sort of eldritch abomination did you make a pact with to obtain the unholy, reality warping PENIVAG?

That pretty much is the context of it.

 Penivag is a monster.

Listening to a lot of Genesis and Peter Gabriel on youtube. Music just isn't what it used to be.
