It's a shame there is so much fluff that the designers think we want.

1 and 3 were the most like James Bond movies, and they just happened to be the best too.

Edit: Actually the latest PS2 emulators work amazingly well. It's not so much our computers so much as emulating a program never intended to be used in this way. I think later generation systems will be easier to emulate as they are made more and more to do the things a PC can do.

I think I have a problem.  But whatever.  I like how a lot of MGS4 seems to be an enormous finger to the dudes who forced Kojima to design it.  The silliness is, well... kinda nice.  For me, at the very least.

It's not the emulators, it's the computers that run them.

You need to have a minimum of 3.6 ghz of power in a single core to run one without constant lag, apparantly.

 Yes, because they run the games inefficiently. It's like making a game that is horribly optimized and blaming the computer for not being strong enough. To some extent the PS3 can be justified like that, but it's not too difficult to have a computer on par or better than one in terms of power.

I got pretty much the same thing, only quad core. And I can play PS2 games just fine as long as the emulator supports them.

Don't expect PS3 Emulators though. Apparently the internals are so complicated and confusing that it turns developers off from spending any real effort.

Ahh. I heard the latest version runs things better than the previous one. Apparantly, speedhacks don't work as well, though.

What I love most about Old Snake, who is best Snake (but only beating out Naked by a hair), is that he clearly has stopped giving a shit about anything, and spends most of the game about as bewildered as the player.  Not to mention the hilarity of him just being really old, but that's kind of an interpretation thing.

As is now pretty common lore, David Hayter was not instructed to make Old Snake sound like he was gargling hot nicotine while he talks, Hayter made him sound all roached out of his own volition, since he's assumed the role of Snake so much over time.  The Japanese edition totally missed out on the fantastic extra characterization of just making him sound as worn out as he looks and acts.
