I just woke up after a Saturday night out. Grammar Nazi away. :D

EDIT: It was probably a subconscious throwback to Atlus games. Fuck, I'm messed up still.

All of ayn rand books made me laugh

Bah, I don't know how you could stand 'em.  I got through 50 pages of Atlas Shrugged and nearly threw it through the wall.

I guess I'll just have to try again this summer...
I had to read Anthem for English class over the summer. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't straight up philosophy.

I had a laugh at the (reader's choice) list here. Putting two Rand and a Hubbard book above Lord of the Rings, To Kill a Mocking Bird, and 1984? And then closing the top ten with more Rand and Hubbard?

I think somebody messed up the survey.

Like I said, I laughed, these were the biggest jokes of literature I ever laid eyes on.

That's the thing, after you get some equipment things pretty much wind down to BOO!! effect horror and it becomes an ordinary shooter, what i would really want is the game retaining that pressure and horror of the Zone no matter how awesomely equipped you are, anomalies should stay somewhat rare, in certain places and become insanely deadly, the best suit protecting you once at most. Now this could make gameplay tedious with constant trips to repair your stuff, but it could be solved with a party system of sorts where you travel with your mates, find stuff, sell it each of you has some sort of skill beneficial to the team. Also guns should be toned down a lot, not the firepower itself but more their frequency so that finding a working weapon is quite an acomplishment.
But that would probably require a big change in the story of the Zone since military, mercenaries and bandits are very established by now, unless the sequel is actually the prequel in which case they can do some very neat stuff with the Zone itself aswell as with the people.

There are mods that do much of this, and I actually very nearly began my own mod project for Call of Pripyat which would have had a complete focus on pure survivalism in a less populated zone.

In fact, here is my old thread where I talked about it.  I wanted to make good equipment a purely temporary thing because it would get lost, stolen, or broken... and make hunger, disease, and wounds more serious problems.  Most of the stuff I proposed has been done, or close enough to prove the possibility... I just wanted to put it together.

Then I found Dwarf Fortress... so much for that :P

The Scientologists and anonymous must have gotten into a bidding war to see who could flood the list more.

I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

Being warm and dry during a thunderstorm is one of the most relaxing things you can experience.  Turn off your silly music.

I found the hammer that asshole took from me a few months ago. And by found, I mean I discovered where he was keeping it, I just didn't get a chance to recover it.

If you're up for some multiplayer, I'm playing it pretty often lately.
