I found out today is National Star Wars Day, the reasoning being "May the 4th be with you." I laughed so hard at the stupidity of that.

You know, I was just coming here to post about a much more important science fiction holiday that happens to be today. As we all know (other than the godless heathens), today is the 61st pre-anniversary of the one true supreme being, SHODAN. Ish.

Apparently I did mindblowingly well on my Russian final by most people's standards, rather than just the "so-so" I thought I'd pulled down.  My Russian professor didn't initially believe the scores I cited.

She also told me that I am brilliant, possess an unusual mind, and that my lazy effort looks like more energy expended than most people's full-bore, nose to the grindstone work.  The other odd thing about me is apparently my enthusiasm "for everything."  And, when I told her Harvard hadn't accepted me (... it was related to the conversation at the time, I promise), she said "Those bastards!" and told me I deserved to get in.

As I left the room with the sound of her glowing praise ringing in my ears, I realized that I had put my shirt on inside-out this morning.


Now I just need to get my recalcitrant brain to learn how to math better.  I'll ace at least one of the two math finals (I'm nearly certain of this), and I'm going to spend tonight working on the stuff I need to know to ace the other one.
