I should mention I finished bulletstorm on my stream. The videos are there if anyone wants to watch them.

I love Bulletstorm.

I swear, it's the only game where you can be hit by bolo grenades and run into a crowd of mooks for massive damage.

So I usurped Itnetlolor's position on the highscores board for Super Meat Boy again. I'm only ahead by one level, but ha.  :P
Hah, I'm ahead by a level again, and that's despite another one of those huge-ass spiders (#3) keeping me paranoid for the past good while. Crept from behind my monitor first I saw it. Still didn't kill it yet. Thing's too damn smart.

EDIT:
I swear, I'm gonna kill that spider. It's hellbent on terrorizing me. The damn thing recognizes when I'm battle ready, I'm not freaking kidding. It saw me armed, and it ducked for cover in a flash. Unfortunately for it, I can still see it in the dark.

Oddly enough, it seems to make it's move once I get back to playing another hard level of SMB. I wonder, Naxza, how much did you pay that spider to hinder me?

EDIT EDIT:
Finally killed the damn thing. It decided that despite flooding the room in light, it went for hiding back where it first met me; behind the comupter monitor and nearby lamp (plenty of shade). Bad idea. I finally got a bead on it, and killed it. However, I heard it's body land somewhere on my desk. Had to cautiously clean up my desk to ensure I killed it. It was pretty much out cold when I found it, but I got the final blow in and struck it down. Bastards are not only smart, but resilient. I so hate spiders. Especially these freaking mutant wolf spiders. That's the third kill of the Badass Spiders. God help me if I run into a BigMutha class. They need health bars, I'm not kidding.

Finally decided to try a non-bashy team in Blood Bowl.

This is... actually pretty cool.  Wood Elves in particular are hilarious, because as long as you don't roll 1s it's like the other team isn't even there.  I have a wood elf team in the public league called Wiggly's Hugglebuddies.  Everyone has a disgustingly adorable name like Snuggy Wugglestein, except for the Treeman, He Who Takes Root in Carrion.  Not everyone can be bubbly and silly.

So far they've only had one game and the guy disconnected as soon as it started.  That's how I got the money for a treeman.

I also have a Dark Elf team, Evilvira's Hags, in WTF (We Throw for Fun) a non-bashy league with 60 or so players.  I think Dark Elves are cool, and I'm figuring their killyness will give them an edge in a league like that.  The only races allowed are humans, elves (All elves), goblins, halflings, vampires, and amazons.

I had a lot of fun with Elf teams myself, Wood and Dark.  Actually playing the game for the game, rather than the (equally valid) raw carnage is a different kind of challenge.  And with a race that's actually meant for it, entertaining and as reliable as anything in BloodBowl.  I wound up preferring the Dark Elves, just because they can actually dish out some pain when necessary.  They're more of a running-dodging than throwing team, but it all works out.

I just got back from a huge track invitational. (32 teams, half a dozen of them large inner-city schools.) We left for it at 7:30 in the morning, and I got back at 11:00 at night. The weather started off nice and warm, but rapidly deteriorated into a lightning storm, postponing the meet for about an hour until the lightning stopped. (During that time, we hung out inside the school.) This meet was moving at a crawl before, with around 10 heats or more of every lane-requiring event. However, the pouring rain, freezing 40 mph winds, and ominous cloud cover drove away all but the most obdurate of teams, my own included. Many of the inner-city schools packed up and went home. For the second half of the invitational, we kicked face and took names. We ended up (barely) winning, with naught but a two point lead.

This meet sounds terrible, but the reason it goes in the Happy Thread is this: I won the second heat of the boy's 1600m run, finally going under 5:00 with a time of 4:58. It didn't put me on the podium, but I've been trying to do that all season now. Now I just have to run a 3200m in under 11:00 and I have my goals.

PS: I also got to see the current second-best-in-the-nation high school 3200m runner get a time of 9:13, a new record for him.  :o

Though a lot of the time our movie nights result in me spending 4 hours watching crappy films, while I try not to rip into them (some of my friends swear by them as amazing, and to disagree would be to invite stupid levels of rant), we had a good lineup tonight. Never managed to catch Ferris Bueller's Day Off before, and I see why it's considered a classic. Robin Hood, Men in Tights is fun to share with people who've never seen it either... it's a great little blend of Mel Brooks humor, mythology, and adventure.

Also, I learned that autotuning the Charlie Sheen interview, and adding elements of Electronica and R&B makes for a fantastically catchy tune:

... I have discovered a new guilty pleasure =/

I do not like Lady Gaga (I mean, lordy, ableism-ho!), but dissecting the symbolism in her music videos is kind of amusing.

I just realised something...

Apparantly, Charlie Sheen said several times that he snorted amounts of crack that only he could withstand.

Maybe he was right. It was enough crack to kill 2 and a half men.

She rightfully gets a lot of attention for how zainy everything about her is, but I do respect her as an artist for making some catchy tunes and very unique music videos. I can't really diss people who like any aspect about what she does.

Although guilty pleasures have very little to do with the perception of others and more your own perception, but hopefully my own support will make it less guilty of a pleasure.

Well, it's a guilty pleasure by my own moral standards, more than anything to do with her performances.  Performer: A-OK.  Person/speech: ... somewhat less okay.

I found a poem I thought was nice while blog-hopping, too:

I saw a play.
All of my friends were there.
Then, walking home at night, I pulled out my shuffly doll walk and scared some little kids walking by.
I had on my houndstooth blazer and copious amounts of eyeliner.
