You guys really make me feel good about my apparent inability to find a relationship =)  Please, expound on your theories.

Umm, well:

1. gave it a chance and broke through my comfort zone
2. figure out she was into me via body language and personality towards me
3. ???
4. Profit

Funny story about it, i ran to the bus stop and miss my stop. Curse at my luck then i saw her running towards me, ask what she wants and tells me very quietly. best i could do was just hug her. ^^

Discarding my misanthropy, congratulations man. The future is never a certainty, but the possibilities are better when you've got love going for you.

Told the guy I was dating that I loved him after two years of dating, which was rather far out of my comfort zone (i.e. probably a kilometer outside); was told thank you and then got dumped by email a week later.

So you know, I don't really need expounding on theories.  I was being sarcastic, because the "fall in love with someone and they stick around until they can find a better gig (like "date no one," because you are worse than nothing)" kind of cuts it a bit close.

... Maybe I should drop off the face of the internet for a while, because I am too darned bad of a mood right now to go with my good mood to be really respectable.  Don't ask; I suspect that my emotions don't really work the way they're "supposed to."

Pweh.

I think I'll die an old maid (or whatever you'd call the male version), unloved and alone.

I honestly can't see me as being desirable to anyone.

...

Why am I posting this in the happy thread??

I suspect that my emotions don't really work the way they're "supposed to."

If it helps, I suspect that most emotions don't work that way. Also possible is that my sample isn't particularly good, but good luck regardless.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

My laptop keyboard has a backlight button for the keyboard.
Why did it not say so on the box?
This is awesome.

Old, drunk, and stoned out of your brains?

And when it comes to relationships... I've only worked up the courage to ask a girl out once. We broke up a while later. And for now, I'm not going to bother with relationships and love and stuff until either
A. I finish my schooling, get a stable job, and have nothing better to do with my spare time
or
B. Meet someone who absolutely knocks me to the floor.
