You mean browser, not OS.  Windows 7 is a good OS.

I had to restart The Void.  Didn't know what I was doing, ended up with a mostly fallow garden and not enough color to survive to the next meager harvest.

That's not what makes me happy, what makes me happy is that I think I'm getting it.

I got the cd I "invested" in/pre-ordered over Christmas the other day. At first I was a bit sad, because it seemed one of my favourite artist had done a not very good album. Listened to it some more, and now I have to say that this might be his best record yet.

I'm happier about it now.

I watched an LP on The Void, and yeah, it's very open to interpretations. I kinda get the feeling that for a lot of the levels the designers were just high and nothing else though.

I'm still trying to decide on interpretations on it myself, even a year after watching the LP.

Looked at the LP for The Void, and decided it'd be better if I see it myself.  In another day and age, as little as a couple years ago (not for The Void itself obviously), this would mean either a long and fruitless search for a shoddily cracked ISO and broken translation patch, scanning Amazon for used copies, or most likely just filing it in the "someday" folder.  Now, I can just buy it on Steam for $10.  I gotta admit, I'm starting to warm up to The Future.

I feel strangely energetic.  A little bit stupid and slow like I usually do, but not so bad.  I passed out my 11-page packets on autism and everyone took one, and then I saw people starting to read them.  That seems fortunate.

Also, my homework for this week is 1/2 computation and only 7 little problems long, which means that I may not have to forgo sleep tonight to get it all done.  I'm going home to my parents' house so that they can take care of me a little... I'm feeling pretty stressed out and all, so it will be nice to have people to feed me and help me out with the non-schoolwork things.

Have ideas for my final in Drawing. It will probably take me the whole week to do, but will be totally worth it. Muahaha!

Well, apparently the test we took in my engineering class was the NOCTI Certification exam, and I did pretty damned well on it too

While looking through some produce we were supposed to be handing out today, I found a rather inappropriately-shaped piece of ginger root. It was amusing.

German oral test went better than expected :3
I am sorely tempted to send that to the out-of-context thread. :P

Ah, winetasting final. They brought cheese and bread! Good times. I'm pretty drunk, though. Oh well.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Had to make a tough choice regarding my MacMini (format and reinstall OS, or find another way) before my sister visits with my backup data on her external hard drive (thought it would be tomorrow, but instead is next week). Resorted to using a pretty interesting Excel document/program I made some time ago, based on the rules of coin-tossing taken to another level. (Turns out, the choice to format and reinstall won, "best of 3 'best of 21s'" (3 rounds of best of 21)).

Simple description:
Toss all kinds of coins (penny, nickle, dime, quarter), be it what's currently in your pocket or a control amount (5 of each or something). Count how many of each kind are heads and tails, and mark that down; place a value on them based on their value (1-point per penny, 5-per nickle, 10-dime, 25-quarter), and mark down for each side facing up (total tails coins and heads coins; greater amount wins), tally the total value of the sides facing up (quarters are a major help, but pennies can surprise you), and to place one last parameter to ensure only one side wins, you then add the sum amounts and values.

For best results, hold down F9 (recalculate) for a few moments while looking away from the screen, let go and look at the upper-left corner to see the winner; details are also visible. For even better results, play best of 21. In that long cell, fill in A or B, depending on which side wins (color coded for convenience).

I took a screenshot of my excel document to show how it works:
Spoiler: Excel document (click to show/hide)

I like finding old things like this I make on a whim. Every cell in light-blue can be edited. Decision name (In this case, ACCEPT and REJECT,  can also be HEADS and TAILS), you can toss as many coins at whatever value you want. The more important the choice, the more coins or value is tossed in. Default is USD currency values, about 25 of each coin. POT MAX is the sum of the coins, and below that cell is the total sum of all the coin values (25 of each coin = 1025 (or $10.25)); POT VAL, like stated before, is the sum of the total value and the total amount of coins (in this case, 1025 + 100 coins = 1125 (or $11.25)). Reference aside, it also assists in doing the math to calculate the other side (simply TOT - A = B).

If you want, I can upload it for anyone to use. Great for making choices between 2 things.

And in other news, a pretty neat thunderstorm is headed my way. Gonna watch it for a bit.
