I am happy today because I am not dead.

Sadly, that is about as good as it's going to be, given my enormous pile of work and exams coming up, but it's better than nothing.  So I'm keeping it in mind.

Over 21, have a licence, it has to be within a certain calibre, can not be automatic/semi-automatic.
Shit even semi is banned? I assume you can't even get your hands on a handgun too?

I believe we can if it is single shot.
We have very tight gun laws, and strangely enough, very low rates of gun crime...

What? Did something happen that had the potential for death?

Ah, I see, dangerous that! I gave it up for an existence based purely on the internet.

In some states, we can own handguns that have to be cocked after each shot and must have a maximum of 5 shots.

Nah, other than being alive.  I'm just feeling extremely stressed, and a little bit upset because just like usual, I can't do a strenuous social thing without the entire rest of the day being totally gone, and my literally being unable to do anything else.  So, presentation -> all energy gone for next 18 hours.

I have to come home today, clean a whole bunch of stuff, finish this rhetoric packet quickly-quickly, put the beginning infrastructure in place for the review sessions I'm going to lead, study for my (about-to-happen) Russian exam, and do my math homework for this week, which I have no idea how to do (the professor apparently gave up on giving us any instruction outside of lecture notes; he used to do sloppy write-ups online to "help" us out.  Also, this is why I will not be getting anything like an A in the course this semester).  Then I have to make a study schedule for now until finals to help me stop freaking out.

Tomorrow, I get up, do math homework, go to classes and pass out this big packet on autism (the preparation of which partially involves my finding the most horrible legitimate sites for people to look at).  Then I come home, finish whatever's left of my math, and start studying, and basically don't stop for the next two weeks.

*sigh*

Well, I have about 40 minutes before I have to hop on the bus for class, so I guess it's time to finish off that autism packet and get the most heinous parts of cleaning my room done.  At least I was able to purchase printer ink yesterday.

You have to admit they made the best assault rifle, best sniper rifle, and best pistol.

Self defence is not, but recreation is. Shooting is a sport, as recognised by the government, so they will let you have one for sporting reasons.

Is "dingo keeps trying to steal my baby" a valid one? I have to say, I'm honestly shocked that those restrictions are in place for areas like W.A. and the Outback. In a country where virtually every animal (and some of the plants) seems to have evolved specifically for the purpose of killing you, I'd want firearms.

AK series (personally, AN-94 is a favorite)
SVD
Also the PKM is a huge monstrous machine gun.
And the Saiga-12 is a great shotgun.
Which pistol were you referring to? The PM is a piece of shit, the APS is outclassed by other auto-pistols (like the Glock series) and the Tokarev pistol (don't remember the name) is pretty average.

Most people there defend themselves the Australian way.

With big sticks that have knives attached to them.
