Gotta admit, it is a fun one to mess around in between updates. I like how it turned out so far. It's a genre/series melting pot of insanity that just somehow works.

Went to the mall and picked up pizza and some other things, including a few gifts for Jonah.
Meanwhile, not really happy, but since I'm here, when the hell did Hot Topic get so colouryful?
It's like a bunch of goths took some happy pills and vomited rainbows, or something.

Man, I'm liking this Dexter show. My inner whiny emo loves pretending to sympathize. I'd resurrect the guilty pleasures thread if I didn't feel like it'd be a heinous act of necromancy.

Though, they could do a much better job with their female characters. I don't normally get on a show's case for this sort of thing even though I should, but goddamn does it seem to be a major problem here. There is about one woman, maybe, in the entire thing who isn't defined entirely by her love life, at least as of the first two seasons. The sister is particularly irksome, once you realize her role for the entire series is in which major character she happens to be dating and that on one occasion she is as close to literally being a damsel in distress as you can get without an actual firebreathing dragon. Incidentally, that might be a spoiler alert depending on how vague you allow your spoilers to be.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Dexter's awesome.

It's amazing that a show about a serial killer could have such a good story.

Also This song reminds me of Doom.

So today I had a rather large surprise when I got up. I went downstairs, to find a kitten sitting under my chair... Apparently my mother had decided to rescue it from the vet's during the morning, she's adorable... although a bit deformed, she was hit by a car then left for dead and someone brought her in to the vet who had to do serious surgery. After that she was nursed back to health by one of her techs and my mother found out when she took our pets in for a checkup. Despite being deformed she's extremely nimble, even for a cat. I've seen her do some very precise jumps from one chair back to another, and I've seen her navigate a series of chair legs very easily (the kind with cross-work in between the legs).

It's made for a rather interesting day.

Managed to go home from Easter.  Overloaded, but alive and I didn't totally shut down there like I have basically every other time I end up around family for extended periods.

Also, I have a basic shape for the presentation, so that may be okay.
