I'm happy today because a. I get to sign up for classes and b. my Russian professor checked in on me for screwing up the listening part of my last exam, just to make sure I was okay--even though it wouldn't have any effect on my grade (I was pretty sick and sleep-deprived, and accidentally skipped a part I couldn't return to on the computer exam).  She's also been giving me advice on Russian etymological dictionaries and books, too :3

Oh, and c. I only have three rhetoric readings left to do in the entire semester, two of which are extremely short, and d. I'm almost completely caught up in my abstract algebra course, so I may be able to actually solve all the problems this week >_>

Bought the DVD of Sweeney Todd today.
Will it be equally atmospheric to Sleepy Hollow? Time to find out.

I deserve a piece of happiness too.

Ooh, Sleepy Hollow... didn't know Burton did a version of that.  I'll have to look into it.

I heard he's doing a Hunchback of Notre Dame thing, though!  That's probably something I'll try to see in theaters on opening night.

What, you don't know about it? Well about time then, that you look into it!
A timeless classic for me.

One of the visually and atmospherically most impressive movies I've ever seen.

Yeah, I only really started watching movies last year!  It's another show to add for this summer's list, along with The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Parnassus? sure, still watching Grandma's Boy.

Parnassus was really good. You could tell that Gilliam learned a lot from making Tideland without making Parnassus as disturbing or slow-paced as that one. It's nothing really heavy, but it's really aesthetically pleasing and fun. One of the few CG-fest movies I've enjoyed.

So, I just got the book Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Excited about reading it.

However, it states that to fully understand the book (whatever that entails), reading his previous seven works and several other works of classical Greek literature and philosophy are a must, and I'm rather hesitant. Do I really need to have read them?

Storm

Nice poem.
