My friend was playing CoD with some people who only spoke Spanish, so I whispered ruego para el beso dulce de la meurte, and me gusta dormir con tu madre y novia, pero lo me hace estoy enfermo. The reaction was fun, and I like that two years of Spanish has managed to teach me applicable real world phrases.
terribad grammar, though.

True. Should be soy enfermo, amongst others.

I had a bunch of fun at the NDP Open House in my town, meeting our candidate and a few other folks and chatting. Mostly listening though. I might end up helping with some web page stuff.

Had a very enjoyable game of Cortex command, but I've run into an issue.

How do I know where my little drop off zone is, and can I change it? Its very frustrating to set up a nice little base and have all my guys dropped off on the other side of the map

Potato flakes are the best thickening agent. Too much milk in the macaroni and cheese sauce? Easy fix!

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I don't think so. It happens in pretty much every possible combination of map/mode

And, of course, you always manage to set up your base in the middle of the enemy drop zone... I've lost count of the times I've been enjoying popping heads and engines with a heavy sniper and Ubercannon when suddenly a rocket drops 3 AK wielding browncoats on me.

Found out that the Joker was based on a character from a Victor Hugo story.

Spent all evening watching a French thriller film.  Was pretty good, and the only French film I've ever seen which had a proper ending (and an awesome way of offing the villain).

It seems like I'm gonna be spending a lot of this holiday watching subtitled films, heh.
