I personally find the 'mandatory love interest' in Hollywood movies to be a bland and uninteresting character.
As such, I don't give a fuck when they die.
No sympathy for breasts alone.

XD i hate the love interests so much, i find it so annoying they have to do it just to make it date-friendly or some bs.

Essentially, these become romantic comedies with blood mixed in.

Yeah, it's pretty sad that the only reason why you'd put a woman in is for making it date-friendly, and then everyone still hates them =/

It's because they don't have much of a role besides "Ooh look at my boobs" and "HOLY SHIT I'M GONNA DIE".

No, I understand it--I hate a lot of those characters, too.  I just think it's a ridiculous situation.

It's just lazy writing all around, a lot of movies still stand by those cliches since it streamlines writing a ton. It also has an effect of turning the survivor of the couple into another boring character simply because they end up with a stock motivation too. BUt again. Most movies that follow these principals word for word aren't really worth watching anyway, though Alien and Aliens are good about it at least in all honesty. Despite the attempted counter.

I agree with you on that.

Sad thing most horror films nowadays are little more than a string of scare chords, startling scary faces and psuedoreligious mumbo jumbo or crazed men chasing the heroine/hero through an empty car park.

We need a horror movie that does something different.

...Right, no romantic sub-plot (and everything else Acanthus mentioned), and give our victims a few more brain cells. And if we're going to have alternate endings playing in random theaters, have a winning and losing ending so we can have flame wars about which ending is canon if we're going to have sequels.

Looking back, that was something that made movies like "The Thing" so good (minus the alt. endings).

Last final finished today. Got a 4.0 in English 101 by the skin of my teeth. Aced Western Civilization 117 and Health 101. Money Management... not so hot. Good enough, though. Never again shall I take 4 work-intensive classes at the same time that high school attendance is required.

Psychology 101 and English 102, here I come!

You don't need decent actors really. You need a hammy actor for the villain if he/she speaks and mostly weird ones otherwise. The best horror movies these days don't take themselves completely seriously.

That's probably one of the reasons I was one of like 5 people that Liked Freddy Vs. Jason.

No, watching bad actors die in horror movies is fun to watch. You see what everybody else is thinking.

In all seriousness, we need less ham and more bacon in films.

Well as long as the actors can die competantly. or amusingly.
