Y'know, I was going to say something about how this is why nobody respects metal, but then saw that:

1. They were chosen to represent Finland in Eurovision Song Contest 2006.
2. They *won*.
3. They were congratulated by the President and Prime Minister of Finland.
4. They played a free concert in Helsinki to celebrate, and were presented with an award by President Halonen herself.

 :o

This is why I sometimes consider letting my wife talk me into moving to Finland. Because that kind of shit just doesn't happen here.

Not to mention that Finland has metal in their charts.
It's probably the only country, where I would consider listening to the public radio stations.

Some song of Diablo was quite high up the ranking.
Would need to look it up, to say which one exactly.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Was finishing up the repair of the elevator, opened a door, and an OH SHI monster was behind it. Ran away, came back a couple minutes later, opened again; still there. Snuck around the room on the opposite side of the door, got to the objective and got the rods needed. Went to leave, and an OH SHI monster was patrolling the hallway back to the exit. After trying to get through only to be chased back into a closet several times, I decided I had had enough. I sprinted down the hallway, ran past the monster on the other side of the room and kept going. The sound of it chasing right behind me the entire time. About half way to the exit it hadn't hit me yet, and I figured I would make it without much trouble at all.

All of a sudden, in the doorway in front of me, a second monster appears. I continue sprinting, getting within about 2 or 3 feet of it and keep sprinting to the exit. The new one managed to whack me once, but I lived and barely made it to the area's exit.  8)

I'm sure there is good metal out there, and perhaps I'll hear it one day.
Your Rhapsody of Fire has arrived. It is literally the only 'metal' band I've ever enjoyed enough to actively find all the albums of, and for the most part I like it. The annoyingly overemotional narrator they used to have simply pissed me off, but now they have Christopher Lee. Saruman.

Here is one of their only music videos, and one of the only times I've ever actually seen them play. They look like a scarier version of a hair band, but they're incredible. The keyboardist, in particular. I have never seen anyone dual-wield keyboards like Alex Staropoli.

Wailing about elves indeed.
I'm happy because I've just been given an exceedingly awesome introduction to symphonic metal. Never really gave much thought to metal, but that's amazing.
I would bow if I weren't already sitting down.

I learned everything I know about Pathos from this thread (and also a few others)

Also from being Pathos apparently? Since we all are.

Apparently.

Today is second springish day in a row. Now it's officially spring!
Though the ground is still either soaking wet and muddy or covered in snow. But the Crocuses and blooming, and the Snow Drops dropping!

The creation of the Moderation Log, coupled with the fact that it currently consists entirely of Pathos alts. This makes me happy.

I'm presuming myself that when Pathos made some obvious alts he also made some unobvious ones that slipped through while Toady banned "BathosAndPathos." So I guess one day we'll be seeing more of him there.

It's okay. Everyone else there is too.
