I have also been compared to Sheldon, which I take as an insult.  That show is basically the opposite of funny.  It reminds me of sitcom parodies honestly.

Well, I'm averagely socially akward, but I guess that doesn't count 
I myself use the occasional fun fact as a conversation starter, however I don't have enough of them to throw them around all the time :/

Also, it seems like a good part of the jokes are a character spewing out some science-y jargon and then everyone laughs.  Even my family laughs.  I'm not sure how that's even a joke.

I avoid shows with laugh tracks anyway.  One of the few exceptions I can think of right now is Fresh Prince.

I always wonder how they direct shows with laugh tracks.  Do they have a set number of seconds written into the script, for the characters to stand there staring at each other with smug/exasperated facial expressions?  Is there a rubric guide for how long a laugh track is supposed to be for what kind of joke?
