I just noticed that this thread has nearly 40,000 posts.

I have a feeling of a thread lock and potential temp. bans happening if a race to 40k starts. Just a heads-up.

It didn't happen before when we reached 20k or 30k, so I wouldn't be too worried.

As I recall, both times Janet locked the thread and we had to dig up the Emergency Happy Thread, which is currently in the process of sinking to the bottom of the thread list untill we need it again.

We would all move down to the Life Advice forum to start threads about how to move on with our lives now that our favorite thread has deserted us. Then cry in a corner. Do try to avoid getting 1/6 of the GD forum locked.

My final project is done and turned in! No more shall I have to look at that horrible ball of spaghetti code! Or think about the horrible performance of half the group!

I'm happy because I'm starting on a monstrous art project to draw one of the extremely optimized D&D characters I drafted to be the gods of my campaign's next story arc. Gorehonego, the Scourge of a Thousand Hells, is quite the complex creature.

The basic creature starts as centaur-like, but you replace the man-half with a lizardman-half, and you replace the horse-half with a giant centipede-half. And then you give the lizardman three heads. Then you replace all of the centipede's legs with 10 tentacles, as per the Leg of the Squid item. Then you add in six more lizardman arms. Then you add massive dragon wings. Replace each lizardman head with a hydra head, grafted from a 12-headed nagahydra. On each of the 32 heads, there are 12 snakes. Around the mouths of each snake and hydra head there are four tentacles. The entire thing is covered in deadly Beholder eyes.

Luckily I have all the magic of MS Paint to work with. Paper would suck.

Idea get. Modding pockets of "rare earth" or "magic" into DF. Stone that boils at negative temperatures, and has some very peculiar syndromes attached to it. I'll have to look at the list of effects and play around with it, but I think it'll be neat.

Holy cow, that reminds me of a mod I made for a SparkGear succession. I made it so that Microcline instantly burst into flames upon being mined, Orthoclase froze anything that touched it, and Bauxite wasn't magma proof, just to mess with people. Unfortunately I couldn't swap the temperature and color values of water and magma because of their hard-codedness. It would have been crazy, especially considering how much rain that fortress got.

Basically deposits of raw magic embedded in the rock.

Had a weird war based dream last night, it was like a FPS and it was I think Americans Vs Chinese, and I remember hiding in this trench area as Chinese ran by and popping up and shooting like 6 of them in the back, then I remember this house which I ran through a carrying a rocket launcher and this guy saw me run in and was taunting me but I came out the back door and shot a few rockets at him, killing him.  Then I was running through this next area and there was an enemy tank that I ended up jumping on top of and riding for awhile.

Can't remember the specifics but it was pretty fun.
