Today: houndstooth blazer, watch as people's eyes water from looking at it.
Seriously, that shit's formal camouflage.

Tonight PBS's Nova has an episode about IBM's Watson (premieres at 10PM EST from what I gather). And as a reminder, Watson will be playing on Jeopardy from Feb 14 to Feb 16 against Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.
watson lost on the last question.

People who read good books, what books should I read?

What sort of thing are you looking for, other than "good?"
Really, anything that isn't a mindscrew or a cheesy romance novel. If you need me to specify further, I will.
Also, it took me forever to get along to responding to that.

Try some John Irving.

EDIT: I am happy today because I just read an anecdote about the War of Austrian Succession, in which apparently Prussia's people were starving but they distrusted the potato (they thought they were supposed to eat the greens).

Fritz II planted a bunch of potatoes and posted guards around them so that the Prussians would steal them (thinking they were valuable) and feed themselves.

What an idea.

Everyone already threw titles at you. Read them.

And Magician by Raymond E. Feist is the best fantasy novel of all time ever.

And A Game of Thrones is a mindscrew, so I retract that one.

I think I became an optimist while my mind wasn't looking. Huh.
