Ah, never read much Tolkien. I don't have an imagination for cosmetic details, and when there is a lot of descriptions out there, I tend to lose interest. I've been trying to get back into the Wheel of time, but since book 11 and 12, I forgot everything. Lately I've pretty much been doing reading for my history class though, and it's pretty damn interesting to say the least, but other than that, I seem to be reading more Roleplaying game sourcebooks than anything else.

Yup, the series went so long that the author died before finishing it, and the 12 book had to be split into three different books by a new author, each book a doorstopper in it's own right, even paperback. So you see I kinda have a problem there.

Man, I got so bored reading the Lord of The Rings. I enjoyed the Hobbit though. I'll need to try again some time, I feel ashamed to be bored by the Goddamn Lord of The Rings, it's not natural for a nerd, it can't be.

It''s very hilarious, and free. I played the game on my stream once to help cheer Janet up. I don't think I'd try again though, since that game runs much slower while recording. You can finish it in a an hour or so, but it's a great spectator videogame.

I'm with ya. Read LotR, but didn't particularly enjoy it. <3'd The Hobbit, though.

Dittos.  The first book kinda dragged, the second book had too much cultural shit although the hobbits and the spider were alright, and the third book was The Bible with elves.  Don't feel ashamed about being a nerd and not liking it.  It's like how nerds love to talk about how intelligent and deep The Watchmen was, when maybe a third have actually read it and it was more just obtuse for no good reason.

I dunno, I liked watchmen. The pirate bits dragged on and I skipped them, and it kinda kicked off the dark age of comics, so it's definitely influential to some extent. The story itself wasn't as interesting as the characters. I don't see why anyone would call something deep though, that pretty much means you didn't get it.
