Don't punish a dog for that unless you catch him in the act.  They aren't smart enough to connect the punishment with the event unless it's immediate.  He'll still go in the floor, but he'll act guilty afterward because he's associated the mess but not the act.

New version of Minecraft is pretty interesting; just as much, I think I got an awesome starting location as well. Just about every material I need, and a beautiful vista as well (plus a really high spawn point) are within a walkable distance. Now all I need is a deep enough lake or a river/ocean and I'll be set.

EDIT:
And wouldn't you know, even that's a reasonable distance away. I think I found a Minecraft Heaven.
