I've noticed that proper resizing manually can look better than auto, which looks better than horrible resizing.

I think the issue is when people don't shrink the avatars, so it's a 500x500 gif that gets autoshrunk by forum software.
It's still 500x500, it's just displaying smaller.

It's shrunk by your browser, actually, which is the problem. Result is that the forum is still uploading you the giant-ass image, but your browser is shrinking it down, and not very well. It's amazing how many people have avatars that aren't even readable at the displayed size.

Oh, my goodness.  First my roommate tries to set me up, and now my (Mexican) uncle has a sweet young Latino coming to visit his/my grandmother's household, and despite the other cousins/young women who are single he knows, he immediately starts playing me up?  Why, whatever have I done to deserve this? 

Heeheehee.  When I was in high school, I thought no one would never want me.  Now I seem to have men coming out of my ears :3
