Redid the last part of Uplink, and had to reset a few times since the RNG wasn't too nice and out-paced me. YAY! I beat Uplink, and finished without getting my gateway checked out by the feds. Then again, I also had enough time to clean out InterNIC's logs after completing my mission. Not as many logs had to be cleared as I thought.
Now that the official game has been beaten, I can either screw around 'online' or install mods that might broaden the replayability of the game. Now that I see the fun with the LAN servers, and going through those rat mazes (kudos to one of the final missions), I'll see if I can take on random LANs in the game, or
see if I can take on one of these challenges from ModLink.

Dear Agent 1337h4X0r,
Congratulations on being accepted for this mission. Let me warn you now however, that this will not be easy. The systems you will be breaking into are EXTREMELY heavily guarded. You were chosen because you are the only agent we think has the slightest chance at accomplishing this task. I will now brief you on the mission.
Recently, an unknown hacker has deleted a file from one of Web Power Incs Local Area Networks. However, there is a backup copy of this file on another Local Area Network also owned by Web Power Inc. Web Power Inc. have failed to notice the first hack attempt, and we need that file putting back before they do. It is CRUCIAL to our operations that you do so.
First of all you need to break into the main Local Area Network of Web Power Inc. We have been unable to find the IP for the Local Area Network, because it is unavailable to the public. You need to find it from one of Web Power's systems. This LAN is fairly simple, and will act as a 'Warm-Up' for the next LAN. Make sure you are fully alert, high levels of concentration will be required.
Once you have broken into this LAN, download the file Web-prog-71546. Make sure it is unencrypted. Make sure you delete ALL your logs. If you are found out, you will not be rewarded for completing the mission.
Next, you must break into the following system: 146.472.354.132. This is the UBER-L33T Local Area Network of Web Power Inc. Your task is to upload the file Web-prog-71546 to the Main Server.
We offer the following rules and advice and for breaking into this system:
1) All phone numbers for use within this LAN are in the form XXXXX-XXXXXX.
2) LAN_Force must NOT be used. This simulates obvious hacker activity and the use of it will not be tolerated.
3) Make sure you are very careful. This company does not want you hacking into their systems, and if you do something wrong, you may lock yourself out of the system.
4) Look at EVERY system. There just might be a clue on a terminal if you are stuck.
5) Good Luck!
6) You must NOT help others to hack the system or solve the puzzles. Anyone found to be helping other people with the hack will be disqualified. Just be sporting and give everyone a chance to do it themselves.
7) WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU CANNOT COMPLETE THE MISSION DUE TO UPLINK CRASHING. THIS IS AN ISSUE WHICH WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER.

If you have any queries abot your mission, please direct them to internal@groovypigthing.com
When you have completed your mission, please zip 1337h4X0r.usr, along with a text file containing your nick name and email the zip file to Icepick72@ravinglunatic.co.uk. NO OTHER TYPE OF FILE WILL BE ACCEPTED. ALSO IF EITHER OF THESE FILES ARE MISSING, YOUR ENTRY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Again, good luck agent, and we thank you for attempting this mission.
Yours,
The Modlink Team
Mission Summary:
1. Break into Web Power Inc Local area network, and steal the file Web-prog-71546
2. Locate and enter the UBER-L33T Local Area Network
3. Find the Main Server, and copy the file to it.
4. Return the user file, with your name in a text file, zipped up, to Icepick72@ravinglunatic.co.uk Of course, seeing as these challenges expired long ago, no file sending would be necessary. For a moment, I thought this was going to be like a custom LAN, but it still seems interesting nonetheless.
EDIT:
Nevermind, they provide the LAN file on a different page.
