If you don't want to go dipping around with more questionable methods looking around for copys of Silent Storm Gold is your best bet.

I just ran into a Tomas in Fallout: New Vegas.  He's voiced by the guy that does Kenzo Tenma in dub!Monster.

That's like a bazillion points in your favor, happy N/A birthday.

Go to strategycore and get the grenade throwing mod. It lets you throw them at MUCH more sensible ranges.
