I fixed my laptop yesterday.

Apparently I had damaged the hard-drive when I dropped it,
 and it slowly deteriorated over the course of two weeks,
 culminating in the computers total loss of functionality.

I figured it out when me and the tech-guy at Best Buy took the parts out.
He shook it like fifty times and insisted that there wasn't any sound coming from it.
Then I took it myself and shook it, to hear a distinctive rattle.

An hour later I was fifty dollars poorer, and one functioning laptop richer.

During the reassembly I lost a screw inside.
It stopped moving around though, so hopefully it lodged itself somewhere safe.

My parts have been delivered! Wheeee!  :D

Now to feed the kids, shovel them into bed early, and get to work rebuilding my rig. And then see how long it takes to generate a new world in DF....

Had my first David Lynch Cinema class. Just a 'this is what's to come' thing, but oh man, so excited.

I suggest you take that thing out immediately. There's a bunch of sensitive components in there, and you're simply endangering your laptop by leaving it in.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition turned out to be really fun. I'm looking forward to the second while I play with this.

I really like the ending. Be aware that there are some dick-moves item-wise near the end. Hint: Collect teeth.

I got my laptop back, not that I need it, and we are remodeling the kitchen, cabinets first. So the guy who's doing it took out the cabinets today and now all of the dry food in the house is in my room. Food hoard!
