There is nothing in Pullman.  Nothing.  And no trees.  The only source of entertainment is COLLEGE PARTY, MAN, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.  So the place has kind of a...rep.

At least, that's what I hear.  There's some really mean jokes about WSU that go around the UW campus.  I'm sure it's not bad if you have the right group of friends, but, yeah.  Seriously, don't let me dissuade you from it too much.  Mostly I'm just partial to the UW because that's where I went.

Yeah, I've heard that it's a bit of a party college. It's definitely a second (or tenth) choice though, as compared to a primary choice. I've gone to Pullman a few times for Cross Country, and it is one of the worst places to be if you grew up with mountains and trees and a town not entirely populated by partying collegefolk.

What did you think of UW anyway? What kind of stuff do they do well, and what don't they? I'm in the stage where I have to find a good half-dozen options and narrow it down depending on what I want to do with myself. I'm kind of a math/history kind of guy, and I've heard that UW has a pretty snazzy Western Civilization department.

I got my grade in math already, and I just took the final on Monday morning.  DAYUM my TA is a fast grader.  And it's an A!  Yayez!

Also next semester I'm taking graph theory, and the textbook is a graduate text.  (This one.)  Should I be excited, or very, very afraid?

At least my perfect (how the hell did I do that?) reading score prompted an email from Washington State University... they want me bad now. It's too bad that I really want to go the the University of Washington, but they make a hell of a backup choice.

Ahahaha, you think one email is something?  Soon you'll be getting 5 a day.  That's a pretty decent score you get there, and those tend to attract emails, not to mention physical mail too.  My 220 something on the PSAT last year got me a ridiculous amount of emails and junk mail from colleges.  Prepare for the spam-fest of your life.

Fun fact:  95% of emails from colleges asking you to apply have PSs.
