I can see that you've embarked in temperate conifer forest biome. Looks like the savagery is somewhere around the untamed wilds level.
You should really use paved roads instead of dirt ones, you know.

Savagery is high. There are a lot of footprints that I haven't shown, because they're hard to see with a crappy camera. Mainly rabbits and foxes , wolves are rarer. The rarest are elks, deer and boars. We have no bears. I saw an elks skull here once. Also the last photo is in the haunted region. It's only region tile big, but it's not a nice place.

Edit: And no paved roads. Waste of time. My fortress has no idlers.

You have mountains. Lucky. Our country doesn't have any mountains at all. But every forest here is as beautiful as that one. I live in a private house so that forest is just at the end of the street. I try go there each day, but I don't always have the time and energy.
