Yesterday, my parents and I argued about linguistic similarities between Spanish, Japanese, Polish, and Russian.  I finished off my letter to Thyme and talked to Muguet about poetry, as well as getting his address for penpalling.  Then I woke up this morning and taught myself to conjugate a verb, as well as basic pronouns.  I can talk to people here from Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Australia, Israel... and I have Taiwanese friends posting mathematical articles to my Facebook page.  The articles are the product of collaboration by mathematicians across the globe, many of whom have probably never met.

At the moment I'm listening to the soundtrack from a Spanish movie, which was neither dubbed nor localized nor censored when I watched it.  I borrowed both the soundtrack and the movie from a local library.

Now I'm off to use the Rosetta Stone program to teach myself a bit more.  In the rest of the day, I plan to study Polish, work on learning some more analysis, and work on my assignment for my writing class--which is taught by a 79-year-old, second-generation Mexican.

Tomorrow I will work on a theater assignment about two women on a Yoga retreat with a classmate from Russia.  I will probably also drink pearl milk tea with my friend, a Russian-Jewish American who studies moss, Renaissance musical instruments, and Native American languages with only 600 speakers.

I am pretty happy about the new religion thread, I argued some and seemed to reach a acceptable middle ground with someone.

You realize you've doomed us all right. It was prophesied that only when the world was soon to end would people come to an agreement in an atheism thread.

Wait wait wait wait. If the world really does end, then that prophecy would be the true religion, which would mean that atheism is wrong, which would mean that everything in the atheism thread is wrong, meaning the agreement is null, thereby preventing the end of the world. ...I think. Or did I just divide by 0 right there?

I have upgraded from a kitchen chair with a broken back rest spoke, to an AWESOME executive office chair. This Christmas was alot more bad-ass than expected.

Seconded. After centuries of pushing the boundaries of communication, culture has finally found an infrastructure that can build the sort of stuff that can bring the world together. It may be a slow thing... but it is a wonderful one too.
