Looks like the time, when the flim industry used to make good movies is long dead.
The Dark Knight
Zombieland
District 9
What do you say to these accusations?

My "Shutter Island"-DvD should arrive in a few days.
It looks like the first promising movie in ages.

It's crap. Honestly... And there's a frog in the theme.

Well it's already ordered.
And a friend told me it was the closest to the quality of some older movies I liked.

It sure can't be worse than anything else that the film industry has been churning out in the past few years.

Damn, I would have never thought, that I would agree with you.
The "plot twist" they pulled out of their ass, is horrible.

Looks like the time, when the flim industry used to make good movies is long dead.
It took you until NOW to realize that?

Nope.
I started thinking it around 8 years ago, I believe.
But hope dies last :/

The Dark Knight - Point taken. However the exception proves the rule.
Zombieland - Never heard of it.
District 9 - Didn't seem to impressive. It's more profound than it looks like?

Look, there have always been bad films. First there were the crazy 50's titles that made no sense. They were replaced by the 70's type B-movie. And here we are now. Cinema isn't dead just because bad films exist, calm down.

Metal slime hunt said pretty much what I was gonna say. Well done. Bad movies, games, and tv are just a fact of life.

Everyone on the disk is awesome. They're just the best. Vimes has arrested kings, and Vetenari manages to control this world of badasses from behind a desk.

I'll be honest. There are some characters I absolutely hate in Discworld, but I won't name them to prevent backlash.

It's just that I remember so much touching and mind blowing movies and that they've become so damn rare these days.
Atmosphere is also lacking these days, ruined mostly by the silly dialogues they have to build into every movie.
And don't you dare to play this down, using the word 'nostalgia'.

Meh, I'm probably just pissed that this movie turned out to be so bland.
Had too high expectations, after a friend told me about it.

Not every film can be an instant classic. The film industry isn't RUINED FOREVER because of that, and never has been. There will always be more bad films than there are good ones, and that's how it's always been ever since film studios managed to get funding.

Beh, no emote can convey my coolkid nature.

And my younger sister(ipad sister) let me use her laptop while getting all this sorted out. Very nice, even though we are split on Chrome vs. Firefox i'll try this browser out for a while. Also gives me a chance to use this cool wireless mouse I had for a while but never used. Perhaps I'll try this out for a while.

Looks like were talking at cross-purposes.
Well, people can't always share the same opinion on something.
Let's leave it at that.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
