That, and this garlic/lemon/honey tea tastes amazing.  I'm starting to wonder if there's other recipes I'm missing out on.
Garlic? In a tea?? I need to know more.

Huh, one of my math professors gave me the initial recipe.  It's just chopped up garlic thrown into boiling water, with some honey and lemon juice in it.  Good against colds, and tastier than you'd think =)

Whoa.  Sounds like it's great for *scaring* colds away.  I'll have to give it a try sometime.

Can't imagine it would leave your breath smelling great.

...Not that that stops me from eating ridiculously garlicky food.  Heck, that quiche was almost made of caramalised garlic.

Also, birthday!  Woohoo.  I can now... uh... start learning to drive.

Studied Loglan, then Lojban, for a while:D  ...I blame Heinlein.

Hahah. Wait! Where does Heinlein advocate Loglan?

And how was it?

Just add garlic, or do you need to boil it in water for a while first?

Also, about garlic, ever tried baking it? In, whatsitcalled, a coat? Like not peeled? It loses all of the typical garlic "stench", and tastes delicious!

God, I need to work on my cooking vocabulary.

Loglan is used as the universal man/machine linguistic interface in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.  I found it limiting and inorganic and fraught with oversimplifications of the real world.  It's great for expressing 99.9% of the real world with laser-sharp precision, but it's kind of weird how they did it.  Verbs have slots for ordered subclauses, like the word for 'travels' expects you to specify where they travel to and from and how and on what ticket in a certain specific order, and add modifiers to skip slots.  In the end, each verb has its own unique form and it's not very generic.  But...Yeah, I can see it being useful when you need a universal, heavily-standardized language.  It works for that.  But heavily-standardized sucks.  When you want to hang a picture, you don't go shopping for nails that are 6.000" +/- 0.002" long, with a bevel of 10.0 degrees +/- 0.015.

...I want garlic pizzaaaaa...

Math has me in a happy place right now.
Vectors in three-dimensions, cubes constructed from vectors, two-dimensional representations of three dimensional vectors.
Vectors, vectors, and more vectors.
Oh, and one of the textbook's examples involves bees.

I remember last year, there was a rush where a few people, myself included, photoshopped a Christmas hat onto the avatars of whoever asked.

I've heard no complaints thus far.

Of course, I am currently the only person in the house, so perhaps that's a little bit unfair.

Hey, at least I don't have to worry about vampires?

I just boiled water in the kettle and poured it over two chopped cloves in my mug.  Squeezed some lime juice in (no lemon right now), and a spoonful of dark organic honey.

The tea is pretty garlicky, but I bet it'd be stronger if you boiled the water with the garlic in it--you could probably put all the ingredients together in a small saucepan and it'd work pretty well.

Also, thanks for the recipe tip!  I'll have to try that out.

Actually, you should probably boil the garlic more.  A mugful of raw garlic tastes pretty funny when you get to the bottom and you're just eating the uncooked stuff.

I dunno... it's not much of a worry unless you're a hollow shell of a character designed to allow your readers to impress their own personality on you.
