My birthday today; I got a Cthulhu plushie.

I am happy.
Happy birthday!

I have 54 hours before I got back to work for crunch time.  I have a paper to at least start writing in that time, but my grade isn't wholly dependent on my own effort, so I'm not gonna try very hard.  In the meantime, vacation.  My only lament is how many fun ways I have to waste some time.

I finally saw The Good the Bad and the Ugly today, it was awesome.
That Clint Eastwood voice is sexy.

Single best western ever made, crappy Italian lip-syncing and all.

I feel slightly vindicated. Source. I'm not going to discuss it any further here because a political debate gets off-topic fast when we're supposed to be happy, but I felt it necessary to post this here.

In other words, you wanted to rub something you believe proves some other argument for you in everyone's faces, somewhere that everyone will see it but know they shouldn't respond to it.

Hell, I'd say best Clint Eastwood movie ever made, even.

Take note budding directors: That is how you make a climactic ending.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I think you're onto something here. We shall start a language teaching tool that focuses on ripping people off at a store. You shall begin meekly figuring out the number system so you don't sell something worth 10$ for 10 cents, and by the end have enough linguistic skill to sell something worth 10 cents for 10$.
Best of all, as the one running the language school, you'd be able to rip off your students to make a great living!

Make sure they don't get too big for their boots, though.  Feed them a wrong word every now and then.

Holy shit this is a mint chocolate chip ice cream granola bar. What the hell. It's covered in a layer of chocolate and has green minty chips. I must stockpile these and horde them.

Edit: Hmm, I wonder if this will get in the way of the GURPS game...

Yes, and make sure you dip one of those abominations in some awesome coffee.
Mint and chocolate seem to go well with the stuff.
And I normally don't like mint.

The 7-eleven near here has a machine that can mix flavors of coffee and hot chocolate. The best combo of the options is mint hot chocolate.

Also, are you going to be able to make up for that exam?

I get a chance to make up for it this friday.
The only thing I have to do, is figuring out how I get to the place where the exam will be taking place in time.
Should be manageable though.

And it worked out quite well.
I'm officially a paramedic now, which means the stress is all gone (for now).

On another note:
If you like point-and-click-adventures and/or artsy games, you should consider getting Machinarium.
Cutest little robot I've ever seen.
