はい、はい、今、あなたは日本人。
頑張ってね。
I don't know shit about Kanji yet, but I'm pretty sure that you said that fqllve is Japanese. Unless that Kanji in there is something that negates that.

This made me happy because I can sort of understand some Japanese after only two months of high-school-level Japanese.

This is slightly tempered by the fact that I dislike almost all of the other people in my class, who are there to learn how to read 'manga' in Japanese, and some of their other weeaboo-esque hobbies. Really, the only people I don't like in that class are the ones who joined with me for the challenge it presents as compared to Spanish or French, in which you can basically guess the meanings of all the words because English is so close to them.

Well, it is a really simple sentence. It kinda makes me curious how adverbs like now and often work in Japanese though.

Went out to see the new Harry Potter movie. It was pretty enjoyable, and it's good to see them taking a bit more time with the plot. Still... that ending! D:

Happy for Thanksgiving tomorrow, and will be getting plenty of sleep tonight. Going to be cooking with my Dad for his folks. Still got to bake some chocolate chip muffins tonight for my Mom's folks, and take a barefoot walk outside.

速い
Fast.
速く
Quickly. (or fast, but quickly demonstrates adverbs better.)
速く食べる。
I eat fast.

Pretty easy, really.

Often is weird, though.
良く。(よく)
As a normal adjective, it means good or sufficient, and is written いい.

Now is a time word, not an adverb.

Ah, see that's interesting, because they are a special class of adverb in English along with stuff like probably and usually. Modify the whole clause instead of the verb.

So stuff like now is probably more like a preposition in Japanese.

Man, I need to learn a non-IndoEuropean language.

e: er, i flubbed. temporal adverbs are conjunctive not modal blah blah blah shit no one cares about blah blah

Just had a long conversation with a very discombobulated WorkerDrone.  The rest of the world aside, it's good just to talk to a friend again, and to see someone cheer up before your eyes.

Make sure you take some college Japanese sometime, although I say this without knowing how knowledgeable your sensei is.  I took a year of college Japanese on a whim, and about half of what I learned in high school Japanese was wrong.  If your sensei is a native speaker, then I'd say you're golden.  I hope I didn't marsh your mellow, this is the happy thread after all.

I should note that when I Googled friday in Japanese, it loaded a turkey dinner Google logo then preceeded with my search.  Made me giggle.
