I have no idea what to get my Santa-ee for the Secret Santa.

Jersey Fudge, complete with tiny pictures of cows and beaches and war bunkers on the tin, wrapped in St Patrick's flag?

Meanwhile, I hate all of you who have snow. WHY CAN'T I HAVE SNOW. THIS IS IOWA, WE'RE SUPPOSED TO GET THAT STUFF.

Same. Except for the Iowa part. I want snow. :(

Okay, that's awesome.  Which four?  I'm just wondering which ones are effective to take in parallel without exploding your brain.

Well, I'm no longer in four math classes as of a couple seconds ago (I need to learn Russian and German before grad school), but:

Honors abstract algebra
Honors complex analysis (with my favorite professor <3 wheeeeee)
History of mathematics (. . . har har har, though I hear Certain People forced the class to translate hieroglyphs and read ancient Greek and Latin, as well as memorize the biographies of some 450 mathematicians)
Classical Geometries (dropped this one.  It was with an amazing female professor and fit in really well with the history of math and abstract algebra, but I can probably learn the material from textbooks.  Also, dropping it gives me a really, really good schedule, and I fully intend to take a different course with her at some point.)

Yup.  I'm sad about losing the geometry, but when all's said and done this is probably a much saner schedule.

This game. Just the trailer alone is great.

New Avatar series.

YUS YUS YUS YUS
YUS YUS YUS!
I had heard about it from reading TvTropes months ago already, but even so, YUS!
I really want to get the DVD set of the orignal series.

Isn't the theory of a universal language translator based around a mathematical construct for it?

No idea, but it seems that many mathematicians are paranoid about things like translation.  "When in doubt, learn the language."
