Math test today. At first, I drew a complete blank and my brain went, "Oh, noes!" and curled up into the fetal position and left me to die. Then, after 15 excruciating minutes of not remembering how to use trig functions, my inner monologue slapped my brain and verbosely gave me a lecture on how to use them. I then flew through the test and finished it fast enough to finish and turn in a lab I've been trying to work on for a month now, and still have 15 minutes to get to the library.

My subconscious slapped some sense into me today.

Stories like this make me happy.

Best thing? My inner monologue takes the form of characters I like, or can see parts of myself in. Who was I math'd up by?

Beast Boy, from the Teen Titans cartoon.

I have no idea what any of that means. The pictures are pretty, though.

This, pretty much >_<

Basically, they got fractally stuff out of somewhere weird, and now they're going "huh, that's pretty neat."

Max, that's pretty much how all my tests go. Although usually I stick a 15 minute nap in there somewhere. And usually it's voiced by a buddy of mine who likes to make raunchy jokes. It would explain why my test average is around 69, and two tests have been that score exactly.

I need to get a better head lecturer.

 And holy damn pretty images.

I like how the last image looks a lot like some other fractals that go around.

Just legally acquired and watched the Princess Bride.

Heh. It's cliche'd and vaguely misogynistic, but there's some awesome dialogue.

I looked at that and just saw:
Quote
numbers words words numbers words words words numbers words OOH PRETTY ACID TRIP

To sum up: Math iz pritteh. And this is coming from someone who used to spend hours letting fractint crunch numbers on my 486. It's a bitch to get older and feel your brain turning to swiss cheese.

... Hahahaha.

In other happy math news, this.

Fractals are always cool. In those, I like trying to get a sense for the patterns, like where there are roots and where there aren't, and how they're arranged about the central axis. Makes all the ideas and numerals seem more like intelligible things.

It's interesting to see the patterns at the fringe of extant roots too... once you get beyond a certain point, they're farther apart, and harder to find, yeah? They don't terminate like that though... as I understand them, they just get more and more unreasonably high. I wonder if the relative patterns or distances between root values, and the rate at which they change would  would help predict new root values. Also, the chart draws an interesting parallel between the +/- axis, and the real/unreal axis which I've never really thought about before.

EDIT: I also may be missing the point of the graph entirely. If so, it is rather pretty.

I'm a good tester. My previous test score was 96%. I was pretty sure I got all the questions wrong until I went back and re-read them, couldn't figure them out and was sure that I got all of them wrong. Then I handed it in and kinda hoped for the best.
