Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Not entirely certain, as my EDIT would show. Like stated, it's been a good while since I last took some classes related to the topic. This is more a thought of what goes on during a storm when lightning strikes.

I'll find some material to cite from anyway to sound less, what my grandma would say, "like a guy with a paper-ass." or something to that effect. To explain what that's supposed to mean, it essentially is her way of saying [citation needed], or else you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Or more precisely, do your research before talking, otherwise you're talking out your ass.

EDIT:
:looks down:
Okay, that explained better than I did. Sounds somewhat similar to what I said. I think my description would be better/easier to explain to a child, I guess. Plus, it'll make them think lightning is cool (being explosions and all in my description), and also remind how dangerous it is still.

Sound is generated along the length of the lightning channel as the atmosphere is heated by the electrical discharge to the order of 20,000 degrees C (3 times the temperature of the surface of the sun). This compresses the surrounding clear air producing a shock wave, which then decays to an acoustic wave as it propagates away from the lightning channel.

(ok, perhaps  I should have gone forward with this from the beggining, instead of pulling that [citation needed] shit)

I'm just a bit confused here; how could I have seen your edit if it was after my post? (I hadn't even looked during my post, nor got a warning, so I don't know if you've just edited your post multiple times, and that's why the timestamp is later.) Also, the fact that combustion is considered "cool" is no reason to give a flawed explanation. And this is assuming that there are young children on the forum to read such an explanation...(For explication;) What was going through your mind, beyond what you posted?

What the hell's going on here? It's not like he said "THIS IS FACT! YOU MUST BELIEVE ME!". He said throughout the post that he wasn't sure.

I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

Beat Epic Battle Fantasy 3, finally. Final boss was kind of a pushover(especially compared to the boss right before it *shivers*). Poison is a cheap move, but most tough enemies are vulnerable to it.

They generally do the body/mind/soul good, despite being a sign that the body/mind/soul wasn't doing very good before. Just be sure to keep the vent gases from hitting another person in the face, or else they'll get burns. And we don't want this pent-up stuff to do more damage.
