You have never met a persistent child, then, whose response to "this woman hates me" is "that's because I haven't annoyed her enough yet."
Hatred is a form of interest.

FIND YOUR ZEN PLACE, AND ALL PERSISTENCE WILL FAIL.

I like children, and their...persistence only ever minorly annoys me. Perhaps I can relate to them for some reason. The world is a scary place that doesn't care for you, so you strive to find attention. And I find every one of them cute, even the ugly ones. Although I can imagine this being problematic if I was a girl and was pressured to make one. Make one eventually sure, fine, I can handle that. But being pressured to THINKING ABOUT IT NOW IT'LL HAPPEN SOON AS SOON AS YOU HAVE THE SITUATION READY FOR IT YOU HAD BETTER!

Babies and very young toddlers (2-3) are pretty awesome when they're someone else's kid.  Around 4 they start getting really irritating and stay that way until around the end of high school.

It's like if you took stupid people, but you had more responsibility for them, they had no neat interests
Not all kids are stupid, in fact, there are quite a few that are fairly bright. If you think that kids don't have neat interests, then you're forgetting to look at things from their perspective*. Your interests probably don't interest them, either.

*NOTE - their perspective (usually) consists of dinosaurs and such. It's pretty rad when you're young.

Yes, I remember being one of the bright ones.  My interests:

a. basic algebra
b. King Arthur and codes of chivalry
c. Amazon rain forest
d. Tigers
e. Animorphs
f. thinking about ways to kill things
g. correcting people

I think what you're missing here is that I don't care about their perspective.  I didn't like other kids when I was a kid.

I am sure you do not think like adults.

No one thinks like what they are.

Edit: Everyone is so special no one is.

Hopy jegus man.

I clicked the 'new edits' button on tvtropes and the first thing that comes up is this game called Zettai Hero Kaizou Keikaku.  I've never heard of it before, and it's made by freakin Nippon Ichi man.  Nippon Ichi!  So I check out the English trailer on youtube.  It is, of course awesome/hilarious, dat announcer guy man.  Then I look a little deeper and you can actually customize this game A LOT.  I only really know Celty and Firo in that video, but still.  There's even going to be an English release, at least I think so.  Why else would they have an English trailer?

But it's only for the PSP.  I don't own a PSP, agh.  Maaaaaaaan.

At least I'll be able to get Disgaea 4 I guess.

Once you realize that kids are just small people, and learn to treat them like that, you can usually deal with them pretty well. They haven't had the benefit of all the time you've had to learn things and perfect skills... that doesn't make them all snot-nosed, impetuous whiners. Kids can be really insightful, kind, and interesting, if you're prepared to level with them.

Add Shakespeare and cephalopods and you've got me, age 6.

Ah, that's a scattered handful from various ages.  I remember being interested in only three things, at five--medicine/anatomy, the Oz series, and the aforementioned algebra (plus or minus triangle numbers, which I was completely obsessed with).

For some reason, I decided at 5 that I wanted to grow up and be a doctor.  It took me about three years to get over it and realize that that wasn't going to happen.  I used to use staplers as my patients.

Dunno, man.  Maybe.
