MY XC team is second in the state and I ran my fastest 5k ever, a cool 17:50-ish. My next fastest from this year was 18:38, so that's a 45 second record for me. In the next 9 months, I plan on running 1500 miles and dropping my time by at least a minute. I plan on aiming for the State podium next year, which requires a 16:30 or better. However, there is hope. Last year, my best time was 20:35. This year, my best was 17:50, a 2:45 improvement. I have one more season ahead of me, and I intend on kicking ass and taking names.

Honestly, a large part of my motivation is that if I hit 16:25, that'd be exactly10 minutes faster than my slowest 5k in freshman year, which would make a nice round number. That and going from dead last JV to possibly getting running scholarships (Maybe from some college in Kansas, but still.). Scholarships would be helpful, especially next year.

I don't think I could tolerate even one copy of myself. I'd just argue with myself... and then argue about the fact that it shouldn't be possible for me to argue with myself, since our opinions should be in line. It would get ugly fast.
