What about the believers of Theistic Evolution?

I guess that's what I subscribe to, as a Catholic who believes in evolution.

Which I guess makes me a retarded fundie or something, somehow because I don't actually know much about this belief system beyond the first paragraph.

LOL U GUYS DARWIN WS TEH DEVIL LOL

e: Yeah, looking into this further so I don't end up embarrassing myself.

I get to get up at 4:00 tomorrow so I can be at work by 5:30. The good part is that my shift will be over by 11, and I'll have the rest of the day to do homework at my own leisure.

The DARWIN IS DEVIL attitude annoys me a million times more ever since we learned about him in aforementioned history of science class.  He was so damn apologetic about the whole thing, how can you even be mean to someone who says they're sorry for showing evolution to be true about every other paragraph.  And what annoys me even more is when people use Paley's clockmaker analogy to counter evolution.
1) Science>Philosophy, I don't care how it should be, what matters is how it IS.
2) Darwin was fully aware of Paley's arguments, he even subscribed to Paley's point of view when he set out on his Beagle voyage.  Only through first hand evidence was he persuaded otherwise.  If Darwin could be persuaded against that view, why can't everyone else?

Because humans are nearly incapable of rational thought.

Personally, I believe that just because we can explain how things happened doesn't necessarily mean there isn't an entity responsible for it. It makes sense that God would play by his own rules. I don't think the bible was meant to be taken literally. Do you think anyone would understand if God tried to explain evolution back in the times of the Old Testament? I doubt anyone would even listen to him, God or not. So instead he just said "I pulled you out of my godly ass because I'm god and I can do that".

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

I find the idea of God trying out different things over time to be appealing.

Woah, woah, slow down.  I didn't mean to deny that there is an entity responsible for everything, that's a debate I don't want to touch.  I was just ranting against people who deny science in favor of religious explanations.  Religion has a place, and that place is explaining things science cannot explain, at least in my mind.

Stop this foolishness.

You must replace that broody hatred with smug superiority.

It is the only way to beat them.
