Tim Cain is a great man. Aside from being a great game developer, he seems to make a habit of hiding great recipes as Easter Eggs in the games he develops.

Tim Cain's Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins

They're the Shadowking's favorites!

1 2/3 cup flour              1 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon               1 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves               1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder        1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs                       1 cup pumpkin (half of a 16 oz. can)
1 cup chocolate chips        1/2 cup butter (1 stick), melted

Preheat oven to 350.  Grease muffin tins (one dozen regular sized)
or use baking cups.  Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves,
baking soda, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.  Break eggs
into another bowl.  Add pumpkin and butter and whisk until blended.
Stir in chocolate chips.  Pour over dry ingredients and stir until just
blended.  Do NOT overstir!  Scoop batter into tins and bake 20-25
minutes. After cooling, keep muffins wrapped in plastic to avoid drying.

The following scroll was looted off of a dead orc in the Suss Forest by the elven ranger
T’Fal. The scroll was found in a bag containing halfling parts and cookie crumbs.

Chocolate Chip Cookies of the Gods
Ingredients:
1 cup cold butter (two sticks)
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 cups chocolate chips (three 6-oz. bags)
Directions: Beat the butter into the sugars until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and
beat until just mixed. Add the flour and baking soda and beat until well blended.
Now add the chocolate chips and stir them in with a spoon. Make cookie balls
with a spoon or your fingers. The balls should be about as large around as a gold
piece and you should get three-dozen of these.
Now the hard part: put these balls on a tray, cover them with foil and put them
in the chillbox overnight. Chilling them makes them taste so much better. If you
cannot wait, do not expect cookies of the gods. Try not to eat all of the dough
before morning.
To bake the cookie balls, place a dozen on a cookie tray and let it sit for 10 minutes
at room temperature, while the oven preheats to 400 degrees. Bake them
8–10 minutes, or until the edges are brown but the center is still tan. Take them
out of the oven and let them finish cooking on the pan for a few minutes.

Appendix 6: Survival Recipes

Mushroom Clouds
(preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit)

3-4 egg whites (at room temperature)
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup superfine sugar*
8 oz dark chocolate (bittersweet or semi-sweet)
cocoa

Beat the eggs and tartar with an electric mixer
until soft peaks form. Add the sugar a little at a time
while continuing to beat, until all the sugar is in and
the mixture is glossy and stiff.
Using a piping bag with a no. 8 tip, pipe out an
equal number of caps and stems onto an ungreased
non-stick cookie sheet. The caps should be about the
diameter of a quarter, and the stems should be about
an inch high and the diameter of a soda straw.
Sprinkle cocoa over the caps and stems, and then
blow on them to spread out the cocoa more evenly. You
may want to do this outside, as cocoa goes everywhere.
Bake for 2 hours at 200 degrees.
Carefully remove the caps and stems from the
cookie sheet. With a dull knife, snip the top of each
stem so it has a flat top surface.
Melt the chocolate (in a double boiler or
microwave). Spread the chocolate on the base of each cap with a butter knife or spatula,
and use it to glue a stem in place. Put the assembled mushrooms in the refrigerator
for 20 minutes to harden the chocolate, then put them in an airtight container.
Makes 3-4 dozen.

*superfine sugar is NOT confectioner's sugar or 10X sugar. If you cannot find superfine sugar, it's easy to
make. Just put granulated sugar in a blender or food processor, and blend for 1 minute.

Desert Salad
(Increase or reduce ingredient portions to taste)

1 lb. extra lean ground beef
(turkey may be substituted)
1/2 head of iceberg lettuce, cut
3 oz. pinto beans dressing
6 oz. sliced olives
4 oz. cheddar cheese
6 oz. tortilla chips
1 firm tomato
1 16oz. bottle of Catalina
1 avocado (optional)

Brown the meat, drain.
In large bowl, mix lettuce, beans, and olives. Crush chips and add. Cut tomato into
small chunks and add to bowl. Shred cheese and add. Slice avocado and add. Add
meat. Toss with dressing. Serve.
Makes 4-6 portions.

Though they dry out quickly, I can vouch for the Muffins. I'd also like to try the Mushroom Cloud Meringue things too.

Yeah, you should really take a look at every gate they have in there. All sorts of useful stuff that you'd normally have to use a whole bunch of gates for. The toggle and the latches are all really useful.
